Deluxe Dining x 8 days then OOP x 6 days-updated with Flying Fish & YSS pg.4

Enjoying the reviews. Can't wait to read more!:goodvibes

Brown Derby- oh how we love thee. This was a choice I was very unsure of based on very mixed reviews here on the boards. I think once again proving everyone should try it for themselves and base it on their own experience. We dined here the day following our less than fabulous experience at the Yachstman.

Our server Nancy was outstanding!!! She suggested the filet and all but promised it was fabulous. So we shall see.

Tiff went with the cobb salad.

She loved it. It could be shared between 2 if not 3 people, it is huge.

Cole's choice.

My choice the potatoe crusted blue lump crab cake. Quite possibly the best crab cake of the week.

Be back shortly for the entrees.

Cole and I both went with the filet.

Wow!! It was fabulous everything Nancy said it would be.

Tiff with the short rib.....

Cole's dessert choice....chessecake.

I chose the chocolate three ways. It was very good but the weakest part of the meal for me.

Tiff chose cobbler which she loved.

The Brown Derby earned a smooth 9 from our group. Could have been a 10 if not for the exceptionally rude woman checking people in. Nancy was wonderful, excellent service, food was outstanding. With this choice being in a theme park we weren't expecting the quality we rec'd. We shall return.

We had the deluxe dining plan for 7 nights and paid oop the other 7 nights. We had 70 snack credits to use during our 7 days, I was not very good about taking pics of snacks. We used severalon the icee selections around the BWV's and in the themeparks. Cole used 7 credits alone on the zebra domes from Mara and put them in the frig to munch on after we were off the dining plan.

This is a photo of zebra domes from our dinner at Boma.

Smores cupcake from the BWV's bakery. The marshmellow creme in the middle was wonderful. The kids used several credits on these.

Out of all the delectable deliciousness you have posted in your pictures, that Smores cupcake has got my mouth watering. I am definitely going to have to get one of those in October :thumbsup2

Loving all the reviews so far! We are not eating at any of the places you have reviewed so far but your food pics are making me rethink our choices!

Mmm love the cupcake and dessert pics - looking forward to trying quite a few of them :thumbsup2

enjoying the reviews, thinking I'm def. going to need to try to add in brown derby or flying fish- decisions, decisions...

Up next Jiko. Our group photo with the first review of Flying Fish was actually taken at Jiko. It is one of the few pics with all 5 of us.

Coles appe was the wild boar tenderloin. Cole proclaimed this is best dish of the entire trip. We tasted each others food at most meals and the boy wouldn't let us near this.

DSC00394.jpg

Tiffs creamy onion soup, very generous portion, it was lovely.

DSC00395.jpg

Barbecue Chicken - with Apple-Jicama slaw, African barbecue sauce, and four cheeses. Good flavors but alot tamer than I had hoped. Didn't pack a lot of punch.

Grilled wild shrimp curry

DSC00405.jpg

Cole's choice-Oak-Grilled Filet Mignon - with hominy "risotto", California delta asparagus and Red Wine Sauce. This was also good but the hominy risotto was bland. Again just wasn't the dynamic flavors we thought we would get.

DSC00407.jpg

My choice was the braised short rib it was very good. Although I would try something different on a repeat visit.

Jiko was a great experience, really good food, and great service. It recieves an 8.5 on our scale. The desserts were really incredible here.

This was the end of our meal.

Coral Reef, we really enjoy this restaurant. It get very mixed reviews but we have eaten here at least once a yr for the last 8 yrs. With the exception of a very salty strip steak one visit we have enjoyed every experience here. That being said it does have the poorest bread, just dry and bland no fear of filling up on it before your meal arrives. Pictures are few from here, we were watching the turtle, fish, and sharks. My apologies.

We had the strip steak for our entrees. All cooked correctly and seasoned well. Service was wonderful!! Score a solid 8. A great 1 TS credit!!!

Love the pictures - thanks for the reviews so far. Looking forward to the others. :)

Love the reviews! Those cupcakes all look delicious, I can't wait to try some with my snack credits! That crab cake at Brown Derby looked amazing. The shrimp curry at Jiko's looks really good too, do you know how that was?

I have a ressie for Coral Reef so I'm glad to hear you've been multiple times and enjoyed it :goodvibes

Your pics are amazing. Lovely to have kids who are adventurous eaters! Mine are too. Makes eating out so much more fun, doesn't it?

It all looks so good! I haven't been to flying fish in YEARS. Might need to return soon. I don't get foam, though. That foam on the steak looks weird. I think they called it an emulsion. Either way....:confused3

Glad you had a good go at it at Coral Reef. We're 0 for 2 there. Brown Derby is on the list. I cannot believe we haven't tried it yet!

Can't wait for more!

I'm in! Great reviews so far, wonderful food porn, and a super line-up! :thumbsup2

Just caught up - great reviews :thumbsup2

The Smores Cupcake and the Red Velvet Cupcake look like 'must dos' :goodvibes
