Your party consist of 2 adults and 2 children and you purchase the deluxe dining plan how are the how do they know which credits are which(adult or child)? Would they show up as 12 meals and 8 snacks per day?
TIA

so if there was 2 other adults on the trip the childrens credits could be used to cover adult dinners. (if 4 adults and 2 children went to a table service they would just take 6 credits)Assuming one person can pay for all the meals

In your example, they would take 4 adult and 2 child credits from your allotment. Assuming the children ordered from the kids menu and the adults got adult meals.

Everything is tracked via computer. On day one, your account is credited with all its meal credits separated by adult and child. When you pay for your meal using your magic band, it knows that you purchased 2 adult meals and 2 children's meals and will deduct accordingly.
Snack credits are universal.

I was told 2 post up that there was no way to tell the difference between child and adult credits(I found that hard to believe that is how I came up with that example)

Yea, just to add we are 2ads+2ch, we ended up with 4 child table service meals left and on our final meal they would only let us use 2 child table service meals and had to pay for the 2 adults.

Just to clarify if you go deluxe all the credits are pooled. Doesn’t matter who uses which credits. All adults can use all credits and you can pay oop for the children.

If you get the regular plan then the credits are not pooled and children credits needs to be spend buying the children menu.

The post asked about the deluxe plan. Credits aren’t separated on the deluxe plan.

It's been a while since we had "kids" on the dining plan, but when we did, we were told that it was only the Quick Serve meals where they didn't differentiate between Adult meals and Child meals. You could use a Child credit for a regular meal. For Table service meals, children have always had to order off the Child menu, though we found an occasional server would offer small exceptions to that. Not sure if it works that way now.

Interested in how this works as well...considering how much we liked the character meals and "2 credit" meals, I'm wondering if it makes sense for us.

And, is it true you can't track meal credits on MDE as a DVC booking like we did as cash pay?

At this time, qs credits are pooled, no distinction between child and adult

On the regular ddp, the ts credits are designated as adult or child. You cannot use child credits for adult meals

On dxdp there are no qs it ts credits. Just meal credits. They are all pooled. You can use them all for adult meals

With 2018 there is an alcohol option w qs and ts meals.

Hope that helps

And Disney can also close this loophole at any time. Thought it would happen this year. Maybe they never will.
