Deluxe Dining Plan meal credits

Was wondering if anyone knows how the credits are pooled for the Deluxe Dining Plan. DH & I are hoping to have a quiet dinner at Artist Point one night & put our 2 children in the kids club. If we do this then we will be left over with 4 child credits - would the 4 of us be allowed to use these credits at a counter service like Pizza Planet? Just trying to figure out how not to waste these credits.

We are doing the same thing on our trip but from what I read here I think they are still separated, if they were pooled that would ROCK!

Reading through the posts on the board, there are some conflicting answers about pooling.

Some posts say that the TS and/or CS are in fact pooled, others say they are tracked by child and adult. Some who describe recent 2008 visits suggest that the credits are pooled. However the number of adults and children on you plan is printed on your card; and the server and/or computer is not allowed to charge more than X adults and Y children meals per transaction to the pool. That is, suppose you have 2 adults and 1 child. You could not purchase 3 adult meals in a single transaction; or for that matter 1 adult and 2 child. Just 2 adults and 1 child or less. Once the transaction is allowed, there is no memory of whether it was adult or child. This would suggest that if your children sat out a signature meal, you would in fact be able to use the credits later for any allowed combination of adult and child meals. Caveat emptor as there are conflicting posts on this. I would be interested if this interpretation is in fact correct; answered by a recent visitor. Regardless, I will be finding this out in late Feb.

I believe the TS are tracked as adult or child.....CS is not. You will have 4 child TS left over.

This doesn't apply to the Deluxe plan as there are no TS/CS credits, just meal credits.

As for the original question, you're supposed to use the credits as child and adult. My suggestion would be to simply use 2 child meal credits at Pizza Planet and share the meal. You can get combo meals so you'll have 2 pizzas, salads and drinks; plenty to share. You can also use the credits at a CS place to get food for the road or items to keep in the room. Go to your grab and Go and you can get a combination of drinks, dessert/snack items or sandwich item to use the kids credit; just ask the CM for help on your options. This may be a good way to "stock up" on munchies for the room too.

I wouldn't worry so much about wasting credits. As long as your family gets enough to eat the plan worked for you. Having an extra child credit at the end isn't really a big deal.

Just back from using the Deluxe Dining Plan for 2 adults, 1 child. ALL the meal credits are pooled. They are not seperated adult/child. You won't have any problem doing what you want to do. You'll be able to use those 4 credits WHEREVER (and it can be either child or adult) you want be it counter service at Pizza Planet or Le Cellier.

No I'm not telling anybody to cheat the system. I'm just explaining how it works currently. To be honest, there's so many meal credits, I can't see people taking too much advantage of these credits being pooled.

What I understand is......they are identified on the card as 2 adult, 2 children(for instance) and you can not use more than 2 adult credits at one meal....or more than 2 child credits at one meal.

That's not what the OP is asking to do, although you are correct, you're not supposed to use more than what you have on your card. But, actually I did it at Le Cellier to buy dinner for a friend of the family, after asking my server, who in turn got the OK from her manager. I used 3 A, 1 C at that meal because we were going to have one credit left over. I asked nicely (since it never hurts to ask) and was prepared to hear no, and was pleasantly surprised when she told me it would be no problem.

The OP wanted to know what she could do with extra credits after having a night out at a 2 credit meal (both adults). I was letting her know that the remaining 4 credits aren't separated or tagged as children's credits, so she could use those 4 credits however she wished.

They give you nothing to keep track of the meals (other than the print out on your receipt) and if you start out with a ton of meal credits, how are they expecting you to remember whether you've use the credits for children or adults? When I go again in September, we'll start out with 108 credits! (6 people, 6 days 3a/3c). Some days I can't remember my children's names let alone whether they've eaten or not that day!

Again, I'm NOT telling anybody to or how to cheat the system. I'm just explaining how it is currently set up.
