Gasparillas – Lots of snacks and one breakfast

There were four of us on the trip. Me, DH, DD(20), and DM. I will try to remember what we all had but I will have some gaps. We were on the Deluxe Dining Plan and took full advantage of the credits we had (21 for each of us). We ended up with one credit left at the end and I believe that was because someone rang out a meal on the wrong card since we had to split our checks for the four of us.

Some breakfasts were eaten on the go in the parks and consisted of muffins and coffee so they may not be there. :confused3

i can't wait to read your reviews. we were there pretty much the same dates and ate a lot of the same places. :)

Thanks for all those that have joined in.

Here is the first part.

We ate at Grand Floridian Café twice during the trip. They were two completely different experiences as far as service goes. The food was good both times but the service during lunch was extremely slow. It took about two hours for lunch. Part of it may have been that it was Mother’s Day but the service was snail pace. The service for breakfast was much better and breakfast was less than an hour in length.

Breakfast: Mom and I had breakfast there one morning while DH and DD took advantage of EMH at DHS. We each had the American Breakfast. Mom had OJ and I had cranberry juice. Food came out quickly and cooked the way we wanted it.

Lunch: We were a walkup on Mother’s Day since that was our arrival day. We ate there because there was a problem with Mom’s scooter and we couldn’t leave the hotel since we didn’t have a key for the scooter.

Appetizers: Tomato Basil Soup – DD - very thick almost tasted like Penne Vodka sauce – Good though. French Onion Soup – DH loved. Shrimp three ways – good – but DM and I agreed that we liked the citrus shrimp the least. The other two were great.

Entrée: Rustic Chicken Sandwich – Very good. The homemade cucumber salad is the best. They were very thin sliced cucumbers. I wanted to get it to go.

The others had the Grand Sandwich (2) and one Roast Beef. They enjoyed them.

Dessert: Two of us had the lemon cheese cakes and they were very good. DD had the chocolate fondue and enjoyed it. DH had ice cream.

PS: If someone could tell me how to change the title of the post I would appreciate it.

I'm in!

The one time I had lunch at the Grand Floridian Cafe service was really slow too. It was our last day and it almost made us miss our ME bus. But the food was good. It sounds like breakfast or possibly dinner might be better.

Count me in we leave for wdw in 12 days!! would love to hear what you think about some of the resturants as we will be eating at some of the same ones. :woohoo:

Here is another portion of the review. I do have one or two pictures from here. I will be posting the pictures this weekend and will add them.

Yachtman Steakhouse (Mother’s Day Dinner)

Appetizers:

Chicken Noodle Soup: DD wasn't too sure what to get. She has never tried lobster bisque and didn't want to order a full bowl of it. The waitress said that they had chicken soup available and DD's eyes lit up. DD loved it. I had a spoonful and it was delicious. She did try my lobster bisque and wasn't a fan of it so her choice was a good one.

Lobster Bisque: me and DM. Very good. It was extremely rich and creamy. It had lots of little pieces of lobster. It was almost a bit too heavy.

Seared Scallops: DH enjoyed them. He had a hard time picking an appetizer. He is not a huge seafood or salad fan.

Entrées:

Seared Scallops: I had them make the appetizer into an entrée since I don’t eat red meat. The scallops were perfectly cooked and the risotto was phenomenal.

Cowboy Steak: DH had it and enjoyed every bite of it.

Porterhouse Steak: DD had this and after getting it recooked twice (she is very picky) she declared it an excellent steak. She also loved the french fries.

Mom I know had a steak and I don’t recall what cut she had but it also had to be recooked since she wanted it well done but had originally told them medium to medium well.

Mushrooms: We got a side of the mushrooms without the wine sauce. They were great.

Truffle Mac and Cheese: We tried it and all I can say is that it was different. Not sure I would order it again but it definitely tasted different.

Dessert:

Crème Brulee: Yum Yum. I wanted more. It was so delicious and very light.

Coffees: DH and DD got coffees as their dessert.

Mom sorry once again I can’t remember what dessert she had but she liked it.

The server was good and she was on top of our drinks. Dinner was shorter than the time it took for us to have lunch that day. The overall atmosphere is very nice here. It is beautifully decorated with light and dark colored woods. It overlooks Stormalong Bay. Will definitely return to here.

Monday, May 11th

Tony’s Town Square: We ate lunch here on our second day. The restaurant is beautifully decorated inside and we seen a few couples recreating the pasta eating between Lady and the Tramp.

Appetizers:

Mixed Green Salads (2): DH and DM. Very good and the dressing was very tasty.

Calamari: Had it with no olive relish. The calamari was perfectly cooked and was not chewy at all. A definite winner.

Minestrone Soup: Very good declared DD. She ate the whole bowl.

Entrees:

Bianca Flatbread: Very good. Light and not too heavy. It was over 90 that day and that was just right.

Tony’s Flatbread: Mom ate it all and declared it wonderful.

Meatball Submarine: DD loved it.

Chicken Parm: DH enjoyed it. They gave so much pasta he couldn’t finish it.

Dessert: We all had the ice cream bomb. Very good. Perfect size to end a great lunch.

The server was very good and kept our drinks filled. It was very hot and we finished the first round in a matter of minutes. She was very friendly and laughed at the jokes DH and DD were pulling on each other. :rotfl2:

I have read many mixed reviews of this place and was a bit leary. We all agreed that is was a nice pleasant experience. If it was not too hot, we would have sat out on the glass enclosed space. I enjoyed looking around at all the pictures and Lady and the Tramp decor.

Great report so far!! Good to hear a positive review about Tony's. We will probably eat there for dinner on our MK day also...
