Chapter 1: On the Road Again!!!

Happy Monday to you all!!! I hope you had a great weekend filled with lots of fun. My weekend started out very nicely. As many of you know Paula and I both love to scrapbook well this weekend was Croptoberfest here in my neck of the woods, so I decided to attend Friday night and finally venture into the world of digital scrapbooking. I have to tell you I LOVE IT!!! It was great not to have to make 3 trips to my car to lug all my stuff into the crop and then have to get it all organized!! Digital scrapbooking is definitely for me!! As soon as I figure out how to save the pages and load them up to photobucket I promise to show you some of my new layouts! I have to say my Great Movie Ride one impresses me the most!!!! It is amazing what technology can do these days!!!!

Okay enough of the everyday blather, although it actually might end up more entertaining than the TR chapter because I’m not quite sure how exciting I can make the drive down to Disney considering I might have forgotten to take pictures…I know what was I thinking LOL!!! However I will do my best… this story begins with me driving to Disney, I was arriving a few days before P so the first few chapters will be about my first days at Disney.

So this trip was a long time in the making and it was really fun to watch the ticker get closer and closer and finally on September 25th the ticker had arrived, it was leaving day! I of course worked that day, it was a Friday and my students and I had done a fun activity about atoms and bonds that day…actually I lectured but that was fun for me LOL!!!! However I was very very anxious to get out of the door the minute the bell rang and my students knew it. I’m not one to let my students line up at the door right before the bell rings. They have to stay seated until that final bell rings, however I made an exception that day! I told my students this was a one time thing, but I was going to let them put the chairs up on tables and stand behind the chairs. Then of course I locked up my desk, turned off my computer, grabbed my bags and was literally waiting outside the door. My students were quite amused by this, they even teased me a bit about breaking the rules for vacation and to make sure I didn’t run any unsuspecting students over as I mad dashed my way to my car. Oh and yes I did mad dash, I beat the school busses out of the parking lot and was on my way to the airport to drop off my car for Prince P and to pick up the rental car. That morning I had made sure to pack up the car and I was ready to head to Orlando as soon as the rental car was mine! I was crossing my fingers for XM/Sirius Satellite radio, but I would be okay with a working vehicle. The green lights were on my side and I made it across town to the airport in record time. I quickly parked the car in a good location with lots of landmarks for Prince P and proceeded to the Alamo counter. The agent on duty was very nice and quickly got me all checked in and was handing me the keys to my car when she went over the total with me and said that will be $487.00…and I did my best Miley Cyrus and said “SAY WHAT??, I don’t think so I was quoted less than $270.00 for the car for 10 days.” Well after she did some clicking away on her computer and looking at my printed copy of the reservation she realized it had to do with the check in time so she changed it and magically my quoted price appeared…can you believe that it was $200.00 more to check in 15 minutes early…ummmm okay!! Well I was given the keys to a brand new only had 100 miles silver Dodge Avenger…here’s a look at the car.

It was a great car and what made me even more happy was the XM/Sirius Radio, that’s right I had the Broadway channel all to myself. This was one very excited lady! So I headed over to my parked car unloaded my luggage (quite a bit for me, however will I survive when I fly to Disney LOL) and packed up my rental car and by 4:15pm I was on the road heading to Orlando. Let me just tell you that the I-10 drive along the panhandle of Florida not the most exciting so I was very glad for the Broadway radio channel and the occasional phone call (using my Bluetooth) to Paula or Leslie. I made one stop on my way to Lake City, where I would be staying the night. I arrived at Lake City about 9:30 pm (had to deal with the hour change from Central to Eastern) I filled up my car with gas so I would have a full tank in the morning and then check into my Super 8. While not fancy schmanzy accommodations, it was a bed and close to I-75 S and it provided me express check out!! I fell asleep about 10:30ish with hopes of getting about 5-6 hours of sleep before hitting the road and making the last 2 hour drive south to Orlando. Believe or not…I actually woke up before my alarm went off at about 3:30am and hit the shower and was on the road by 4:15am. Once again very thankful for my Broadway channel and a bottle of water!!! DISNEY HERE I COME!!!!!

Up Next: WOW....When they say Deluxe, they mean Deluxe, is there really a difference in the TP, and DHS EMH…aka the running of the bulls to TSM (yes really it’s that bad, worse than Soarin’ LOL).

Patricia!!! YAY!!!! Nobby is so jealous of the Travelocity gnome, he gets all bent out of shape when you mention how much that gnome gets to do!!! The one consolation prize for Nobby is he is WAY more good looking and we have the photos to prove it LOL!!

I am late, but in. So glad your trip was fantastic. I cannot wait to get a fall trip someday. You look fantastic Jen--- way to go!

YAY...thank you so much!! I can't wait to see my pictures in january...now if only I could get back to working out like I was LOL!! Oh yes you must do a fall trip they are the best!!!

I have to agree with you Tracy...SSR was very pretty but very spread out and I'm so glad we had a rental car or it would have been hard to get around that resort!! Awww...I hope you had a great trip!!!

OHHHHHHHHHHHHH what a great update (start!!) I especially like your final lines about the Deluxe and about TSM, because you KNOW we were both there for that flight through DHS to the FP rope lines!!!

OK...so what was I doing??? hmmmm.... I was off Friday, so I did some last minute packing...and shopping...resulting in more packing I made Christine's MNSSHP costume. Did a little cleaning...since I knew it was the last a dust cloth would be seen til I got home I took my little Allison to Gymnastics Practice from 5-8....for those of you I don't know as well... this is my littlest munchkin....

She spends alot of time at the gym

Off and on thru the evening I chatted with Jen... I was a little jealous that she was on her way...and I still had to work 2 more days!!

The Car was super nice... very comfy. I'm feeling pretty spoiled now not using the busses!! Although my family trip next month will be bus-bound...My upcoming February trip has a rental car added into the budget!(BTW... the Feb trip was recently added... it's just Allison and I, she's going to be competing in a gym competition in Orlando!! yay!!
