Does anyone know if there are any specials or discounts for the AP's now?
I know Costco had them a few months ago, but is there any current promos?
thanks!

I agree -- no, and I'm bummed.

DW & I just got back from a trip in late Sept, and are planning to take DGD6 right after Thanksgiving. We bought our DAPs from Costco on 7/31, just before the price change. $269 with a $50 gift certificate, making the net cost $219. But we didn't buy one for DGD because she's not going until late Nov, and the Costco passes required a first use by 10/31. I figured that the price will go up a little, but they'll come out with a new Costco deal with a new expiration, but still get the $50 certificate. WRONG!! So DGD's pass will cost us the full $289. Bummer.

And I've since read on DIS the expiration is really "advisory", to encourage people to quickly use them; but that they'll still honor them at the gate, possibly after giving you some static.

Yeah I heard you had to use them by that date to get the card.

Last year and this year are the only times I've heard of AP deals...this Costco deal is one of them, and last year around this time they had a special link on the disneyland site for a great deal on an AP.

But I've been here since at least early '07, and it's the first I remember hearing about deals. They aren't something to be expected, from my experience/memory...

GrandBob, I doubt you would have been able to flat out use that Costco AP. They would have given you credit for it, but you would have likely paid the extra 20, and woudl NOT have gotten the giftcard.

Thanks Molly. Makes me feel better. I didn't want to break the rules anyway -- and there was always the chance that I'd lose the money entirely. I don't mind paying for DGD's pass; but it would have been nice to get her on the Costco deal too.

Thanks Guys!
I didnt want to get the Costco deal either because I knew that we wouldnt be able to use them before the expiration date. :)

BTW, does anyone know how much it would cost to upgrade our Deluxes to Premiums? Premium now costs 429; do we get credit for the current value of the Deluxe, or for the price we paid? That is, would it cost:
429-289 = 140, or
429-269 = 160

I'm asking because we're considering going next year for our 25th anniversary. Possibly getting a room at GCH. But our anniversary is Valentine's Day, and Feb 13-14 are blacked out of our Deluxes. I know we can get blockout passes for $45/day, which is $90 for those two days. But it occurs to me that if that's what we want to do, it may be worthwhile to upgrade.

Thanks for any help. And sorry for the hijack.
