I need some advice A what would you do My adult daughter and i will be in Disney for the week between Christmas a New Years:santa::yay:. We are doing a split stay (1st time).

We have rented points to stay in a DVC studio for arrival Christmas Eve till the 27th when we check out and check in at the POFQ. We will be OOp for our 4 nights at POFQ.

I am an AP holder and considering purchasing TIW. So my question is~~ would the deluxe dining plan be worth it for our 1st 3 nights at the BCV? We're thinking of Yachtsman for Christmas dinner and CRT dinner or a dinner show.

Our plan is to have 2TS each day with Yachtsman and another 2 TS credit meal thrown in. We usually have a breakfast and dinner each day.

Is this going to be too much food because i know with the deluxe plan you get 3TS but i understand that you can swap out one of the TS for a Quick service meal.

Am i correct in understanding this deluxe plan will give us 9TS entitlements for these 3 days. If it starts on Sunday our check in day and check out on Wednesday any left over entitlements would still be able to be used on Wednesday till midnite.

I appreciate your help .
:thanks:

The deluxe plan gives you three meals per day. You can use those meal credits for QS or TS meals. At TS restaurants, the deluxe plan includes an appetizer. If you're worried about it being too much food, you're probably right. Some folks use one credit for breakfast and use two for a signature dinner to keep it a little lighter.

The dining plan is typically a terrible value for adults. The deluxe plan is slightly better, but you still want to get about $33 value out of each credit. If you're considering the TiW card, it's likely a better value, but there will be a blackout date during your trip.

I think you need to plan out where else you WANT to eat and then do the math. It might be worth it, depending on your other meals. I would also make sure I have the ADRs I want before buying the plan. That's a very crowded week.

As supersnoop said, TiW does have some blackout dates around that time, so check into that before you buy it as well.

Basic DDP and QSDP are terrible deals for adults, but DxDP is actually a pretty good deal, if it fits the way you want to eat. You can even forgo an appetizer or a dessert most of the time and still be coming out at least even, depending on what you order.

Yes exactly~~ for the first 3 days that's why we thought the deluxe plan might work in our favor. Only because TIW has the block out dates of Christmas eve and Christmas Day the 1st 2 days we're there and using the DxPlan.:thumbsup2

Thank you for calrifying the amt of entitlements we'll have

Thank you~~ yes i will definitely make sure i can get the restaurants we want before we purchase theDx plan. Our 180 + comes up in a few weeks then i will have more of an idea what specialty venue will be available.

yes exactly^~~ we will wait until after the 27th to purchase TIW. We love WDW during Christmas this will be the 3rd time we'll be there during the Holidays.:santa:pixiedust:

Yes, i was thinking that the basic dining plan wouldn't be worth it since we couldn't use the TIW for Christmas Eve and Christmas. so i think this might be a good plan for us since we usually have an early buffet breakfast (thinking Tusker, Cape May and Crystal Palace) then a couple of Specialty venues for dinner.

Do you know if a salad is considered an app or a side and if i can sub out the app for one?

:thanks:

^ Thank you~~ that's great! :yay::offtopic:

I have a question a little off topic but i was wondering if you know if i could get sugar free desserts or desserts made with splenda for the dessert party? I did post this under the restaurant boards. Someone said the Chef can make GF desserts so i thought maybe sugar free:confused3

Thanks again for your help
