Flight from Indy to Orlando was great. Got to the Orlando airport on the return flight and "sorry, you're airplane will be 1 and 1/2 hrs late and you will miss your connection in Atlanta". We spent 5 hrs in Orlando airport, flew into Atlanta and Delta put us up in the Red Roof Inn with meal vouchers. We flew to Indy the next morning.

When did you fly? We flew out of Orlando on Delta on 7/6 and when we got to Atlanta, there were all kinds of problems for people flying to Indy, Chicago etc. because of thunderstorms and late connections. I'm sure you weren't alone. We were lucky to get to Dayton on time.

You were probably delayed because of all the flooding going on in Indy.

We were supposed to fly out of Orlando 7/6 2:15 but we were told our plane had mechanical problems so they were getting another one (I think it was coming from Indy). Anyway, we ended up getting home 7/7 on an 8:25 flight out of Atlanta.

Same thing happened to us last year on United. You are lucky because had it been weather related they probably would not have picked up the hotel bill. I believe if it's mechanical (therefore, their fault) they will take care of you. Weather related is mother nature's fault and nothing anyone can do. What happened to you could have been any carrier. Weather related problems is just something that goes with the territory, especially for Spring/Summer/Fall travel coming home in regard to thunderstorms/hurricanes and such. I've gotten use to it and try to remember to call the airlines now before I leave the resort. I know delays are unfortunate, but nothing anyone can do about it. My next 3 trips (July, Sep, Oct) are all on Delta (Song starting in September).

Delta was good to us and we had good flights all around. "Things happen".

My favorite on weather is when people start yelling at the gate agents. Uh... can they do anything. A man near me actually asked the last yeller if he thought the Delta gate agent was God. When the yeller turned around the man said "well you seem to think she can adjust the weather". Now let me point out that there was a HUGE thunderstorm on this day. You could see it out all the windows (it was cool to look at, but I did not want to fly in it!)
