Just curious to hear people's experience with Song Airlines (Delta)- the good and bad.

Normally I fly Southwest out of Hartford but for our next trip, Song's departure times are better with the non-stops. Just trying to maximize time at WDW. ;)

Thanks for sharing!

We are flying Song from Hartford for the first time in May for our trip to WDW. We got a great rate for non-stop flights. When I posted this question a few weeks ago, everyone had good things to say.

We have reservations to fly Song from Newark to Orlando in June. We always liked Delta and hope Song will be as good. They had the absolute best flight times and fares. Plus both flights are non-stop. I hope we all do well with them!

I just flew song from Hartford to Tampa a couple of weeks ago. It was a very good experience. It was wonderful to have seat assignments so I was much less stressed before our flights. The flights were exactly on time and the flight attendants very friendly. Our planes did not yet get upgraded to have the TV's in the seats, but they said all the planes should be upgraded by the end of March. The only little glitch was the amount of time we spent waiting to get our luggage at the airports(especially in Hartford after returning home)but I don't fault the airline for that - I think that has something to do with the people at the airport.

We used the kiosks at both ends to check-in and our luggage tags were printed and put on our bags by Song personnel. In Hartford we had to drag our bags a short way to put in a pile while in Tampa, our bags were taken right at the kiosk. Very quick and quite painless! No more waiting in lines either curbside or at the counter when those kiosks are available.

I heartily recommend Song and plan to do more business with them, as long as they keep those non-stop flights. I was happy with Southwest, but I much prefer the seat assignments and would be glad to pay a bit more to get them, even though my Song fare was a few $$$ less than Southwest.

Flew Song in early November and everything went very well. Smooth flight and on time. The 'talents' on the flight down were very, very funny and organized a raffle. Anyone who wanted to, put in $1 with our seat # on it. A kid drew out the winning dollar and some teenager won over $160! Sure helped pass the time.

We purchased the wrap sandwiches (just because it was new and something to try) and thought they were quite decent.

I felt like the seats were slightly narrower, but could have been my imagination. We always try to get exit row seats, for the leg room, and the arm rests didn't lift up on those seats. So, I won't be selecting those again.

I used Delta Song for the first time last month. I travelled solo with my two kids, ages 4 and 7. I did curbside check in for our bags in Hartford and in Orlando I used the self-serve kiosk.

Our planes did not have the TVs installed yet. We had a Friday afternoon flight on the way down, which was full. The flight crew was quite funny, always on the PA with a joke. The kids got a kick out of it. On the return, our flight was pretty empty and they let people change seats if they wanted to. The crew was a little quieter, but held a raffle for who had the oldest penny and they won a beach towel.

I would fly them again, I wish they had more direct flights. They seem to be a little more expensive than Southwest, but in this case the flight times were better for us.

We took them from BDL last Oct and had no problems with them (actually only problem we had was that the ground crew took FOREVER to unload the luggage at Hartford-not Song's problem though!), would absolutly fly with them again-loved the early morning NS.

DH just flew them to Las Vegas from Boston, on the return trip he had one of the planes with the TVs-Which he LOVED!

I vote for Song too!

Just noticed when I checked the Delta site, that the fare for our trip dropped by $24 per seat (4 of us going). I called Delta and can get that in the form of a voucher for each person and that is good for one year, but we don't travel much, so I hope we can get the benefit. Guess we'll just have to go back!

We used Song in Sept/Oct 03 from JFK to Orlando. Had onderful flights in both directions. Would fly them again. We did not purchase any food, so I can't comment on that. The only problem we had was on our return flight we noticed that our stroller was damaged. We had checked it at the gate. Delta gave us no problem with the claim and I was refund my full amount for the stroller ( had an original receipt) in less than a week.

That is just my 2cents.

We had great service and great flights--flight crews are excellent!!!!! We however had a few problems with our flights being changed (3 times--for Jan 04!!!!). But it was good to know after all that that we had such great service and flights-- we would probably fly them again, but only because the employee's on board were so great!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh No - I'm bummed too - I was primed for the tvs!!! We fly song from Bradley this Thursday Night to MCO.

At this point, somewhere around 2/3rds of the aircraft have TVs. All should have them around the end of March.

Hi everyone,

We flew Song JFK to MCO 2/15 - 2/22/04 and LOVED it!! We arrived a few minutes early both ways, flight attendants were really nice, leather seats, very funny and informative flight crew and we had the tvs coming home!!Really helped cheer us up!! I would certainly fly Song again. Already planning our next visit! :p

By the way, we printed our boarding passes at home from the Delta site. They are available 24 hrs to half hour before your flight!! Then we checked our bags curbside and walked thru security check. Pleasant walk to the gate with nothing to lug around and all we had to do was walk onto the plane 15 minutes before flight time. No more check ins or lines for us! :sunny:

Hi everyone -

Just wanted to update you about Song from Bradley - we flew them on 3/4 and back again on 3/9. They were great, and both flights had the tv's. The flights went by so quickly when there are so many options to keep you occupied! I actually won a few of the rounds of music trivia!

I'd fly them again for sure.

Anyone ever use stay/park n fly at Bradley? Looking for hotel suggestions - thank you
Or just park n fly?

This thread has put my mind to ease.

I'm a JetBlue fan :) but this trip I'm taking Song out of La Guardia in New York.

I have to admitt :o I didn't realize they were doing the "tv" thing too like JetBlue. This will make my 14 DS a little more happier. He was so bummed that we were not taking JetBlue down to Florida this year.

We've done the Stay Park & Fly with the Doubletree Inn once. It was okay - I was not really happy with the fact that the shuttle to the airport left at a certain scheduled times (and not when you needed it). This was a while ago, so I don't know if they still do it that way. On our honeymoon, we also did the Stay park and fly with the Sheraton - but I don't know if they do that now.

Lately we just park & fly: we've used Roncari (AAA discount) and Piccilo (sp?) and have liked both.

Hope that helps.
