Delta changed flight Itinerary! Don't know what to do?

Help! I don't know if this is the right place to post this but I need advice!

I was going to call to book my ME transportation for my Sept. trip and remembered from last time that you need the flight #s. I have all of the flight information that I originally booked but know that sometime airlines change itinerary times (usually by mins in my experiance) and flight #'s so i decided to go online to delta's website to look up my itinerary. MY flight home is completely different than what I booked!!! My original itinerary was MCO to ATL departing at 3:00pm and then ATL to Pa departing at 5:45pm. Since our ME pick up wouldn't be until around Noon we had an early morning tour scheduled for our last day. NOW my itinerary is posted as ATL to Pa departing at 2:45pm and there is NO flight listed for us to get from MCo to Alt!!!??? What is going on!? I figured that the ALT to PA flight was moved up and we were removed from the MCO to ALT one since we would miss the connecting flight but why isn't a new flight on my itinerary? There are plenty going from MCO to ALT that day. Also, since the time was moved up my ME pick up will be earlier & that means the tour I booked is in jeoporty. It wass what we were all really looking forward to! Can I get Delta to put me on a later flight since this is not what I originally booked and it is messing up my plans? Advice would be helpful! Thanks!

You need to call Delta and find out what's up with your itinerary. If it's not something that works for you, politely but firmly let them know that it doesn't work.

I had the same situation for December. They changed our flight PIT-JFK to arrive the same time as our JFK-MCO was leaving! I have 2 award tickets and the route through JFK was the best I could get for 25,000 miles. So I looked at their schedule online and found a flight through ATL that will leave PIT about 20 minutes earlier but arrive at MCO about 2 hours earlier! I called them and they switched us to those flights with no problem.

Are there any other Delta flights that would work out? Perhaps leaving later?

Hand pick a few flights from the website, then telephone and quietly ask to be booked on them. The airline should be willing to do it with no charge.

You may be able to sneak a peek at the seating chart. If there are vacant seats actually showing, you should be able to get your first choice of what you picked. Even if all the seats in the chart show occupied, that does not prove that the flight is sold out.

Last weekend we checked our Sept. Delta flights. Our flight out our Bangor had changed or been cancelled. They had us booked on another flight but it was still in the air when our connecting flight took off. On the return trip we had 3 minutes between flights!

First thing we did was find out what other flights are available. You may find better times flying thru another airport.

When you have alternatives, call Delta. We were able to speak to a very nice woman in Montreal. I told her we had some alternatives and she was able to book us on our first choice. She assigned us seats. When we were done we went back to the Delta web site and changed the seats on one flight. The flights we were changed to were far more expensive than what we originally had, but that was not an issue. Now we are arriving at MCO EIGHT hours earlier. BTW, the first time we called we got someone who was very difficult to understand (in India maybe?) but she disconnected us, thankfully.

You have plenty of time. This will work out.
