UN-seasoned traveller here....the airline websites read like chinese to me.:confused3:)

I *think* Delta's policy is one free carry-on per ticket/seat? 45 linear inches or less (22x14x9)

Correct or not?

I think we can get away with no checked luggage if that's the case, I just want to make sure I'm reading their weird little chart right.

TIA!:worship:

Delta allows one carryon and one personal item like a bookbag or purse per person. A typical small wheelie bag is the size they accept. If your plane is small, a carryon won't fit in the overhead bin and they'll give you a pink tag. This is plane side check and they'll Put your bag in the luggage compartment but retrieve it at the jetway when deplaning so you don't have to wait. I fly delta tons and they're pretty good about carryons but planes are more and more crowded these days. If they font have room or the bag won't fit, they'll check it for free

Thank you! I appreciate the help....:worship::thumbsup2

*sigh* As I said in my post...the website reads like chinese [sic] to me.

The policy on the website for carry on baggage could not be clearer:

* Baggage may not exceed 45 linear inches (or 115 cm) in combined length, width, and height.
* Baggage must fit easily in the Carry-on Baggage Check, which is located near the check-in counters and at the gate and is approximately 22" x 14" x 9" (or 56 x 36 x 23 cm).

All you need is a measuring tape.

Yes, I got the measurements, as you can see in my first post. What I did NOT see was a definitive statement on whether there is a charge for them or not. I may have missed it. I'm not perfect, and i admitted that in my OP...All I asked for was confirmation, not a lecture. Who pee'd in your cornflakes today?:confused3

Once again, thank you to the HELPFUL poster who simply confirmed the info like I asked.:worship:

Carry-on Baggage
Our goal is to provide you with a comfortable and seamless travel experience. To improve onboard efficiency, we ask that you follow our carry-on baggage policy as outlined below.

You may carry on one bag and one personal item at no charge. Please note that all items must easily fit into the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you.

This is what I just copied/pasted from Delta's website. It's right there...pretty plain. You never said anything about being charged for a carryon. I think that everyone assumed you were talking about sizing of carryon bags..hence the answers you got.
I am pretty sure that asking about 'who pee'd in your cornflakes today' isn't going to sit well with most posters. They try to be helpful and answer what was asked.

Copied and pasted from my OP:

Yes, I did. That's exactly what I asked. I posted the measurements myself to point out that I DID see the size.

I'm sorry if you don't care for my responce to lost*in*cyberspace, but as the OP who knows darn well what I clearly asked, their posts were snotty and rude. I don't feel I was out of line AT ALL in asking what their problem was in my own way.

The OTHER person (of two, until you) who answered obviously was able to read my post as clearly as I wrote it. 'Nuff said.:confused3

Oh, and btw, I've received NUMEROUS pm's confirming that other people read my question the way it was asked. So I'm not alone in my opinion.

I am not going to get into a 'she said, he said' here...but just because some people 'got' what you meant, does not automatically mean that everyone did. I wasn't sure what part of Delta's policy statement you were asking about. Again, I still think most were assuming you meant sizing.
I am closing this thread before it gets any more contentious. People...every single one of you (not any one person)...please realize that it is not always easy to discern what someone means on an internet discussion board. It is easy to misunderstand both questions and answers. Try to have a wee bit of patience when posting.
