Definitely take a boat to Saratoga Springs! If you like peaceful/relaxing resorts you'd probably like SSR. It seems like a lot of people on the DIS complain about it but it is a nice place.

The pictures I have seen of SSR look amazing! I'm sure it would be a wonderful place to stay.

If I go without kiddos in March we might stay at POR, I have a huge list of resorts I want to stay at over the course of the next ten years or so

And I like you LOVE lists, you should see my notebook and binder oh and some saved on my computer

I want to stay at every resort at least once. We'll see how that works out. I've crossed off 3 from my list so far. 3 more to go this trip.

I have a quick question for you all. I know some of you mentioned how people who have had gastric surgery are able to get the kids price at buffets and such. Can any of you point me to where you read that? I told that to Marc and he was super excited and I *might* keep Park Fare if this is the case. Who knows.

Any help would be great.

I think you'll find a way to explore all your resorts and I'm sure you'll have a great time doing it...I'm going to laugh when you end up in the Mighty Ducks section...you can take photos of the hockey stuff for Prince P LOL!!!!!

I really would like to check out POR sometime it looks like a very relaxing resort and of all the moderates it and POFQ are the ones that appeal to me the most!!

I too am on a DVC Mission when I'm staying at SSR...I might even take the tour they offer to get a lot of questions answered since we would like to be owners come the beginning of next year LOL!

Oh I'm sure you'll love OKW!! It's our home resort, we have DVC, and we love it. I love how relaxing it is but still has that Disney feel!! You should definitely buy DVC, it's the best thing my family did! We're able to spend so much more time at Disney plus use it at other places and it's why we were able to do 2 Disney cruises. I hope you love all your resorts and I can't wait to hear the reviews about the other two, we've never stayed at either of them!

Secondly...SO MANY RESORTS!!!!!!!! Wow. You're staying at 2 of my "dream" resorts (actuallly, to get on property would be a dream all of its own ). Hopefully you guys can get into DVC. It would be great for you and Marc.

And thirdly...beware the jewels!!! You remember those autograph books you inspired me to do? Well, I took them to California with me last week and the jewels on the crown fell off. Poop. When I found them, they were easy to stick back on, but still. BUT, you DO have a different type of crown than mine were so hopefully it won't happen to you.

I love your resort lists!!!! What a great idea!!! I think you are going to enjoy your stays everywhere!!! Are you requesting the HH section of OKW? I liked staying in that area....very convenient!!! I HIGHLY recommend it!

When does this singer play in the lounges at POFQ? Is this something children can listen to??? Sounds very interesting!!!!

Marc & I are planning on taking the DVC tour on our next trip together. Even if it's another few years before we buy, we want to get a better idea of what it is all about.

My crown stickers are just one piece, no separate jewels. I almost did jewels but then decided they might fall off.

I requested a couple of the buildings that are closest to the main building, is that what you are talking about? LOL. I'm confused.

I don't think I've heard anything BAD about DVC. Makes it even more tempting to buy.

Like Laura said, find a seat in the lounge and listen to the piano player -- he is lots of fun!

LL, glad they were able to help you there! The Podcast had someone write in with that very question, and one of the hosts of the show mentioned that with the Guest Assistance Card they would allow for an adult to pay a child's buffet cost. I think they also mentioned how you probably didn't even need the GAC, but they would just let you do it - the GAC would just make it more legit, like you weren't trying to con the system or something.

Did you find out about how to get a GAC?


I love your lists, such a great idea! The boat ride to OKW/SSR/DTD is really lovely. When we rode the sun was setting, which made it hard to take pictures, but a truly beautiful ride! There were birds along the shore (but don't worry, they weren't flying in your face, they were just chillin' on the shore), and it was fun to ride past the Treehouse Villas and spy them through the trees. I loved how the boat basically went INTO OKW and winded around some of the buildings. You'll really enjoy it!

Great resort lists LL!!!

My biggest disappointment of this trip is that we are staying at POP again. I really wanted to try a different hotel. Specifically, I wanted to stay at WL but I couldn't justify spending the money this time around

I've gone and done it.

I've canceled my September trip.

I know, I know!

Here are my reasons, in list form of course.

*I'm very stressed out about my surgery and how my recovery will be just 4 short weeks afterwards when I'm due to be in Disney.

*I will not be having my full paychecks while I'm out and the financial stress is making me worry all the time.

*I already had a trip where conditions were not ideal (blisters) and I know that I will not enjoy myself if I am not feeling 100%. I don't pay good money to be miserable.

*I'm planning a solo trip in January to make up for this September trip.

Not all is lost. I'm happy with my decision to cancel. The thing I regret the most is missing out on the wonderful DIS Meets planned with Jen, Paula, Christine, Jackie, Heidi and TK. Did I get everyone?

I'm doing this surgery so that I can be healthy, happy and more ready to start Marc & I's own little family. I can't be upset that this wonderful surgery is going to postpone my Disney plans. It's very worth it.

I'll be having this PTR shut down because I don't want to continue it. I plan on starting a new PTR for my January trip and who knows what wonderful surprises will be in store while I plan it. I am not going to start the new January PTR probably until after my surgery on August 26th but who knows...I might not be able to resist.
