Hi,

not sure if you're aware of this, but you don't have to be a twitter member to read people's feeds.

I quite regularly check a couple of feeds for games companies and I'm not a member - all you do is goto the web page e.g. http://twitter.com/thedis is the twitter feed to DIS and you'll get the information

Normally if the box next to the username is pink the name is taken it normally stays the same when the username is ok to use but it would have text saying username in use or ok and a tick when you can use that name don't know why its not working for you. It then take you to reCAPTCHA to enter what they have in the box I hope you can get it sorted sorry I can't help you anymore Im crap when it comes to things like this lol

When the box goes pink it does mean the username is taken.
I just typed A username into box and the box to the right went pink and had the words 'username has already been open'

Can you borrow someones laptop or even pop to the library to set up an account?
