How long do I leave this ice cream cake out to defrost a little so it is not frozen solid? It is an 8 inch cake from dairy queen. There were no instructions with it.

i put them in the fridge for awhile. otherwise they get too melty on the outside and still frozen in the middle. and use a heated knife to cut.

I just pick them up a day before and put them in my freezer. It is much "warmer" than the freezers at the store so when I go to slice it there is no problem at all :)

Microwave on defrost, 15 seconds at a time and then check.

Don't defrost unless you want a BIG mess.:rotfl:

I only eat the chocolatey-crunchy part...so I wouldn't bother defrosting ;)

We take it out of the freezer about half an hour or so before we want to slice it up. And we also use a knife heated with HOT water and then wiped dry.

UMM I love chocalate ice cream cake..Why defrost use a hot knife!!
