Question about dedicated rooms and lockoffs. Lets us Boulder ridge as example: They have 65 studios of which 20 are Dedicated 45 are Lock Off. They have 72 1 Bedrooms 27 of which are Dedicated 45 are Lock Off. Can any of the lockoff rooms be booked as just one category? So if all the 20 dedicated studios are booked are 1 of the studios that they allocate for a 2 bedroom lock off avialable to just be booked as a studio?

Yes, that's exactly how it works. The lock-off rooms allow flexibility in demand for each room type.

Edit: For example, Boardwalk Villas has no dedicated 2-bedrooms, only lock-offs. If for some reason the demand for larger rooms tanks and no one wants a 2BR then all of the rooms will get booked up separately as studios and 1BRs.

Yes, leaving a 1BR to be booked later.

Consider that if this were not the case it would be nearly impossible to get studios at BWV.

My understanding is that when they have enough studio reservations to use up all the dedicated studios, they start reserving the studio sides of 2BR lockoffs, leaving the 1BR for other reservations. That's why at BWV, for example, where there are no dedicated 2BR, when the studios are all booked, so are all the 2BR, but 1BR are available.

DVC resorts which, like BRV, have dedicated 2BRs, studios, and1BRs, have separate booking categories for the 2BRs, but not for dedicated studios or 1BRs, so if desire a dedicated studio or 1BR, you should make a non-guaranteed request.
