Can soomeone explain this to me please? It is probably a really simple explanation but I am a sleep deprived new mom....
Thanks

Lockoff is usually used in connection with a 2 bedroom. A lockoff 2 bedroom is a 1 bedroom plus a studio with the door in between open. That door can also be locked and be used as separate rooms. A dedicated 2 bedroom can only be a 2 bedroom because the second bedroom cannot be locked off, there is not a separate outside entrance for the second bedroom.

Yesterday, when I made my December reservations, MS told me that if you are traveling with young children you are automatically assigned to a dedicated room unless you request otherwise. I tried to add dedicated as a request and he told me it was unecessary because it is given automatically.
Does anyone know if this is the case?

most of time that is true.

kids like to open doors - if the maids forgot to lock the studio portion of the 2-bedroom - and you got the 1-bedroom - the kids could easily get in someone else room.

I always check to make sure my door is locked when I get a lock-off - too many times I have heard the door being tested....most of the times you can tell it is kids - but sometimes the adults - too strong for it to be kids.

if they don't give up easily - I will ask what they want (without opening my door) - I generally don't get an answer - just their door closing (and I hope) locking...

but most of the time it is just children - being children.

so if they can you will get a dedicated.

however nothing is guaranteed.

They usually book the dedicated 2 bedrooms first so that they can split up the lockoffs as separate 1 bedrooms and studios as needed. When all the dedicateds are gone, then they would start booking the lockoffs as 2 bedrooms.

I booked a two bedroom unit for our trip in April 2005. A few months later while talking to a MS CM I found out it would be a dedicated two bedroom. I did not specifically ask for a dedicated unit, but I did say four adults & three children. I really liked the dedicated unit. There was more room in the studio like closet space, storage space, bathroom sink area, etc. Plus we adults knew there was only one way in & out of the unit.
