I recently graduated from my 2 year school and I decided that I wanted to do another CP in the Fall. I applied a couple months ago and received NLIC. After finding out that was wasn't going to Florida in September I started applying to colleges. I was accepted into the engineering program at the school I wanted to go to. I paid my acceptance and orientation fees and then about a week later I got an email from Disney recruiting saying that they want me to do the CP for the Fall.

Since i already made plans for the Fall i can no longer do the program. I dont want to turn them down because i would love to do an imagineering PI in a couple years and I feel as if it would shed me in a negative light. Should I email them and explain why I cannot do the program?

Also, does being accepted clear a restricted rehire? Or do you have to actually do the program? I missed my last day of work and its possible i was put on restricted rehire.

Thanks :)

You are fine. You can decline a invitation to the DCP with out it hurting you. I declined one in 2011 in FSFB because the check-in date was 2 weeks away and I was opening a restaurant in Boston at the time. Just keep in mind, that it alot of the PI's are only offered to DCP allumni and that it is ALOT easier to get a PI when you have managers to back you up. Not saying that it is not possible, just easier! :D Good Luck!

Do you decline by just not responding to the invitation?

I declined an invite in Spring 08... and went in Fall 08 no problems.

No, you MUST respond, they will ask you your reason for declining. If you don't respond, that could possibly hurt you.

Did you just email recruiting?

I declined one back in Spring 2007 and then reapplied for this Fall and got it. I called them and told them.
