I am just curious. I feel like I read somewhere that someone got Minnie Car vouchers instead of housekeeping??? Is this an option? Is this an option if you stay at All Star Music?

I take it back. A search of the boards looks like $10 per night credit. I definitely saw someone post $20 a night but I can't find it. $10 doesn't really seem worth it to me.

Lol, I just did the same thing, as I am staying at Sports soon. I think originally it was $25, but now $10 at Values. Don't know about Mods, and one post thought not at deluxe?

For us, we like clean towels, bed made up/clean sheets and a clean room everyday..... so absolutely not something we would do ... Ours friend did this thinking that they (mousekeeping) would not enter the room, they don't want anyone in the room... but they did enter as clean towels and trash bags where left on the bed... they had sat the trash and dirty towels outside the door... which I think is awful, you are inviting critters and bugs up to your door, to get into the trash...Disney needs to put some type of trash bins for the guest that go this route, as well as some type of towel exchange booth...

I don't see leaving the trash bags outside as anymore of a sanitary issue than leaving food trays/pizza boxes which people do all the time. Mousekeeping frequently comes by to gather them up. As far as no one entering the room, Disney still does room checks even if you opt out of Mousekeeping. The only way to truly have a "private" place to stay is to do an offsite rental.

In a interior hallway, I can see leaving a tray or something outside the room. For me being raised here in Florida, I was taught never to leave anything laying around outside food, trash or whatever, everything from ants, roaches, rats, squirrels, possums, raccoons will think its a invitation to lunch.

Anyone?
... and if the party is doing online check in, does that matter?
TIA

I'm interested too. We have a 2 night reservation at ASSports and will be in the parks open to close. We would gladly take a $20 gift card for such a short stay.

I googled around a bit and people said they received a text just before or after checking in, regardless if they did online check in. Unless someone responds.. think that’s best I could find.

I did online and went right to my room. On check in day, I just went to the front desk. I think I had a call from the front desk asking me to call back. I wanted to see if this was available, and it was. FQ is where I had it, and it's for per night, but not the last one, as they need to clean your room when you leave. So my 7 nights got a 60 dollar gift card. And I asked for more towels and trash removal. They always gave me more towels and shampoo, but never emptied the trash, so I just bagged it up, and left outside my room. They did remove it from there.

We got a phonecall in January right after we checked in and they offered it based on length of stay - not per night. We were staying at POFQ and were offered 50.00 for 5 nights. we check into BWI this Friday and I would hope it would be more for a deluxe. Funny thing is I LOVE a made bed everywhere but hated having to put my purse away, meds in a safe, etc. It was nice not having to worry about that in January. We made our own bed and just got towels off the housekeeping cart...It was in the form of a digital gift card to use as you like.

Even if I declined housekeeping, I would still put all valuables away, especially medications. They still do a room check and you can't guarantee that no one will enter your room by mistake. Things happen.

Totally agree! The one thing I always lock up is medications as if they disappear it's not quite as easy to get them replenished quickly.

Someone WILL enter your room. It is now the policy. They may not clean it but they will come in.

We (DGS 15, DGS 11, DGD 18 and myself) stayed at POFQ for four nights the end of March. I did not do online check in. When I checked in at the front desk, I was asked if I wanted the gift card ($30) instead of housekeeping. Since I was with grandkids and I knew we would have a lot of trash, I took housekeeping and not the gift card. I will say it felt good walking into the room at the end of the day to nicely made beds and fresh towels. I did notice nothing was done to the floors daily while we were there. We were in a refurbished room and it would have been easy for them to have dusted or damp-mopped the floor, but they didn't.

I do not believe this is offered at the deluxe resorts.

When we stayed at POP last July-August, we were asked at check-in if we wanted to do this. The cast member had a laminated chart, showing the value of the gift card based upon the length of stay/ $10 per night. We were there for 8 nights and gladly took the gift card. We were able to request towels as needed. We bring our own toiletries, so that was not an issue, and we left trash outside our room and it was always picked up. We were at the parks a lot, so we were only in our rooms to sleep. We made sure that before we left each day we would put the beds in order, empty trash, and organize the room to make it easier on us when we got back. Disney got the money back in the gift shop, but we also got some extra funds to use.

I travel for work a lot, 70-80 nights in hotels a year. I NEVER request my room to be done each day. If I am there a week, I may ask for a single day, midway through. I know at home I don't make my bed every day. I also know at home I don't wash my towels every day. No need to feel entitled to this on vacation.
