I won an online charity auction with the intention of giving it to my daughter as a grad gift. She will definitely be given the 3 nights at a Universal resort, tickets to WDW, Universal & Seaworld but my dilemna is why I bid on the auction in the first place - the flights. When the voucher arrived, we were surprised to see that it included not just the U.S. & Canada (which we expected) but also the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America. Now we have to decide if we should use the voucher for her Orlando trip or buy the flights (which were promised) and use the voucher for ourselves, maybe to escape Calgary's winter next January. What would you do and if you were to keep the vouchers, where would you go?

I am always pricing Cancun (CUN) from Toronto and Buffalo and the prices are definately much higher then flying to Orlando. Personally if it was me, I would use the vouchers for Mexico or the Caribbean.

Do the vouchers expire and if they do will it be tough for you to get away?

I it were me, I would save them for a Mexico/South America trip and buy her the flights unless she is travelling in peak season with no chance of her flights been under $600.

Unfortunately can't get to South America on the vouchers but can to almost all of Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. She's going to Orlando at the end of August and we are leaning towards keeping the vouchers. They do expire at the end of Jan. 2009 so we could escape Calgary during a winter month.
