Deciding between Boardwalk Inn or Villas

Hello,
We have only stayed in a DVC studio standard view at Boardwalk, which we absolutely love!

However, with Boardwalk Inn opening there is currently still availability for a room with a Boardwalk view.

I think we would really like the view, but I am trying to find out what I am losing or what the differences are between the rooms. Right now it would actually be about $25 cheaper a night for me to switch from Standard view studio villa to Boardwalk view Inn room.

Some of my questions are:
1. What are the room differences?
2. Are the bed sizes the same
1.Will I be closer to Epcot?
2. Is the fridge the same size?
3. Are the rooms about the same size?
4. Do you prefer the villa studio over the Inn rooms?
4. Is the decor different?
5. Did you enjoy the Boardwalk view?

Anything else to consider?

Boardwalk Inn rooms typically have 2 queen beds vs. a queen bed and sleeper sofa. Both have refrigerators.

I don’t remember if the inn room has a coffee maker or microwave.

Boardwalk views are great!

I can only answer #5, as I haven't stayed in the villa side. I think BW view is one of the best views at Disney.

1. What are the room differences?
Villas studios have a kitchenette with a small sink, storage cabinets stocked with paper goods, a microwave and toaster. The refrigerator is dorm-size. There is one queen bed, a queen sleeper sofa and a Murphy bed that is smaller than a twin.
2. Are the bed sizes the same
No. See above.
1.Will I be closer to Epcot?
The Inn side is closer to Epcot. The villas side is closer to HS.
2. Is the fridge the same size?
Both have the smaller, dorm-size fridges. Some will have a freezer compartment, some won't. It's random in both inn and villas rooms.
3. Are the rooms about the same size?
The studio will feel larger with the sofa folded back in place but in reality, the inn rooms are slightly more spacious because they don't have the kitchenette.
4. Do you prefer the villa studio over the Inn rooms?
I prefer the 1BR in the villas over a hotel room anywhere. But the BWV studios have a serious storage problem. The drop-down bed replaced drawer space under the TV and the chest of drawers that they used to make up for it is shallow and extremely limiting given that the maximum occupancy for that room is 5 people.
4. Is the decor different?
Disney has moved away from making any of their resort rooms "different". The only real comparison between the inn and villas is that the villas get heavy usage, get refurbished less frequently and tend to show their wear and tear.
5. Did you enjoy the Boardwalk view?
We have had a Boardwalk view three times. Twice in a Grand Villa and that view was amazing. We had a boardwalk view studio the third time and it had the solid balcony wall, so you had to stand in order to enjoy the view. That was less than magical.
Anything else to consider?
Almost all BWV studios are part of a lock off, which means that you will have a door that connects to the 1BR villa next door. Sound tends to travel thru those doors, so if you're a light sleeper you may be disturbed by normal sounds coming from your neighboring villa.

The Inn rooms have two queens and a twin size sofa sleeper, right? The sofa being the kind that the back folds down onto the seat area.

Personally I’d take the BW view. A kitchenette sink and microwave isn’t that important to us, but I could see some people needing those amenities.

So when booking and it says 'sleeps up to 5 adults,' does that actually mean that you may only get a room that sleeps 4? I'm just curious because I really have no idea what the odds are of not getting the day bed, which would be pretty important for some families.

The odds are very high if you have 5 guests on your reservation as they will receive preference for rooms that sleep 5. If you are a party of 3 you may not get a day bed.

There are quite a high percentage of day beds but not all 2 Queen rooms have a day bed so if you have 3 guests and want a day bed for 3 sleeping surfaces make that your only request. But remember it is only a request.
