Decent, Cheap hotel south of Birmingham, Alabama

I am planning a trip in May (no, not to Disney - that trip isn't until September ), and I need to find a hotel that is cheap yet clean, just south of Birmingham Alabama. We will be arriving late and leaving early so all we need is a clean room in a decent location off of Interstate 65.

Does anyone have any suggestions? It is so hard to just pick a hotel off of the internet when you aren't familiar with the area at all.

I would suggest a hotel right off of exit 246, which is hwy 119. It is a nice area of town, and there are several restaurants right there, both fast food and sit down. I can't remember which hotels are right there, but I can check and get back to you.
