Due to a flight change by ATA, we have the opportunity, of staying an extra night in Orlando. THe new flight was to leave earlier, (8pm, rather than 10pm). I know this isn't much of a change, but it does give me the option, of staying at the parks later, and possible getting to see Spectromagic. Something we have missed our last 2 trips.

I can switch to a Sun. flight, for no charge.

My FTP ends on Sat night. I don't think it would be neccessary to stay at CBR, for the night. I thought if I could find a hotel close to the airport that will shuttle us, I could have our towncar take us there.

I don't want a creepy room, but not top of the line either. Basically just somewhere to sleep, and possible do breakfast in the AM, before a noon flight.

Thanks in advance

:)

We stayed at a Hilton Garden that was kinda of close to the airport, There was alot of road construction so I think there might be abetter way to get there. It was nice. I also here about a Marroit Courtyard that is nice. Maybe you can get the Hyatt right at the airport for a good deal.

There is a Marriott, an Amerisuites, Courtyard and I am pretty sure a Hampton very close to the airport. All of them have free shuttles and are fine. The Hyatt in the airport is Great, but expensive! I got it on Hotwire however if you are willing to risk that.

There's also Embassy Suites near MCO and they have a breakfast buffet and also have complimentary shuttle service. I haven't stayed at this particular Embassy but have stayed at others and it's always been a positive experience. We'll be staying there the night before we check in to CBR. Rates are also reasonable.

We haven't decided yet, what we are going to do.

Hotwire is a good idea. We bought airline tickets through them before, so I am up for that.

Embassy Suites sounds good. I've stayed at Hampton Inns before, so that would work too.

Thanks again:D

Expensive is of course relative but the rate for the Hyatt in the airport terminal should be between $99 and $120 on their website. The best rates I have found for this hotel (including internet specials, AAA, and senior discounts) are always on their own site rather than the large search engines like Expedia/Travelocity/Orbitz. Other airport hotels run much less but you can't beat the convenience of the Hyatt.

I was lucky and got $83 for Nov 29 but it's been up to $124 for some time now!

I've heard of many having success with Hotwire and getting the Hyatt that way for $36 - $56 by choosing the 3 1/2 star one with NO picture of a shuttle. But some reported they got a different airport hotel.

Good luck!

I would suggest that you stay away from the Howard Johnson's near the airport. We stayed there the last night of our trip because of their free shuttle to the airport. If we would have had longer reservations, then we would have checked out immediately.

The room smelled horrible. There were stains all over the walls (some looked like urine). There were dead bugs on the floor. The door did not fit its frame, so we had to stuff the gap with towels to keep out the bugs and noise. Our 8:00 wakeup call came at 5:00.

They were doing some remodeling, so maybe the hotel has improved, but we will never stay there again.

Have a great trip.

Depending on what you are eligible for, government rate is $95 and senior rate is $112. Anyone with a military ID is generally accepted for government rate. Hotels usually honor both retiree and active duty military cards, especially in the wake of recent political events.

I stayed at the Hampton last year. It was very nice and clean and did have a free shuttle. Right across the parking lot is a Denny's and a Bennigan's restaurant. I would stay there again.
