December WL Refurbishments

What can I expect if I stay at the WL courtyard view if we stay there in Dec...are the refurbishments just impacting the villas or the entire resort? Thanks!

Major impact/closure will be to the VWL pool and the beach, to include the fire pit and playground. The nearest free nightly marshmallow roast is located at Disney's Contemporary Resort. Fort Wilderness offers the Chip 'N Dale's Campfire Sing-A-Long.


~The Teton Boat and Bike rental and nature trail that begins just behind it, will also be closed. However, bike rentals will still be available and nightly movies will instead be shown indoors in the VWL lobby. The spa treatments located within Sturdy Branches will also close. The nearest spa treatments are located next door at Disney's Contemporary Resort and at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.

That about sums it up. The courtyard view rooms should be the least affected, as long as you request "Inner Courtyard" which overlooks the main pool. The rooms on the South side of the South wing will overlook the Villas pool construction.

Since the transportation dock is unaffected you will still be able to access boats at the North dock to go to MK, CR, and FW.

There is lots of discussion about this on this thread. Enjoy your stay, it is a great resort, especially in December.

Thanks for the replies! We love the WL during the Christmas season. Just didn't want to wake up to a construction worker outside my balcony!
