December weather

My family is going in December, around Xmas, and I have seen in the past that the weather can be anywhere from 50 to 70. Is that the normal? Any suggestions on packing and what other people have seen the weather do in the previous years at Christmas time?

I am hoping that the kids will be able to go swimming in the pools at the hotel (we are from Maine and swimming in December outside is really special). Our pool now at home is 67 and the kids get in for a little but still too cold to stay in too long.

I am really hoping that we will be able to be in shorts for some of the time. I know that nights can be cooler and that is okay with us.

I was there last year in the beginning of December. The weather was mostly high 60's to low 70's.

There were many people using the resort pools.

I would also plan on sweatshirts and long pants as we had cool mornings with rain and fog and one night it was low 50's, did not really bother us (as we are from Mass) but the CM's were COLD.

We did not experience any downpours but have been told that this does happen even at this time of year, so bring suitable rain gear.

Shorts were the attire of most days and we rode the water rides without fear of staying wet all day.

Well that makes me feel better. I wouldnt want to go in the summer because it is WAY to hot for us. This way we get away from the snow and cold and get some sun. Thanks. Now I really cant wait to go
