I am not sure if I am posting this in the right place. Can anyone tell me what the weather in like in WDW the week before or after Xmas? I am thinking of going then but not sure. Can you swim and wear shorts? I know weather is not always predictable but appreciate any info.
Thanks!

DH and I usually always go the week before Christmas. This past year we went from the 14 - 22. Depending on what you're use to you may or may not want to wear shorts. This past year was our worst experience with weather. In the past it has been nice and warm in the 60's so we would wear jeans and t shirts. At nite I'd put on my hoody. Last December though I had to buy mittens and a hat because it got down to 35 at night and during the day didn't get higher than about 50... but it was extremely windy. This only happened for about 3 days though and other than that it was nice weather. Don't know if I would brave the pools though... even if they are heated...it's the getting out that kills me. HTH!:goodvibes

We are going the second week in Dec. I was told the weather is usually in the low 70s during the day in and in the 50s at night. I also heard that people do swim in this weather since the pools are heated to 80 degrees.
Is all this true?

Hello. I strongly advise that if you are deciding on going to WDW on either the week before or week after christmas......go the week BEFORE!!!

Nothing to do with the weather, its the traffic. The 7 days after christmas are the 7 busiest days WDW has. Just by going the week before, you save yourself a world of hassle and lines.

Nothing better than enjoying the world in value season. Am going from 8th-18th of Jan for trip number 4 and have no worries about weather. Just kick back and enjoy!!!!

We been at WDW in December (14-24) three times. We have worn shorts at times and winter jackets with gloves at other times. The weather can range from the 40s to the 80s. We usually layer our clothes--cool mornings, warm afternoons, and cold nights.

we went the first week of December in 2006. It started off in the mid 80's but by the 4th day, it was down to the low 60's during the day and into the 40's at night.

It was 34' the day we arrived in WDW this past December 17th. I was in jeans and was very thankful I came from LI and had my winter coat with me. I had to add gloves to the coat that night for Fantasmic. It was colder in Florida then it was up here in NY.
The next day I was comfy in jeans, a T and a lightweight fleece. We left on the 19th and it was warm enough for jeans and a T.
There were people in the pool the day we left. You wouldn't have caught me in it though!:scared1:

We are heading down this December. I plan on packing lots of layers and being prepared for a wide range of weather.

Ditto

Layering is the key.:thumbsup2 We were there Dec. 17th-26th, 2005 and Dec. 18th-26th, 2007. We had a couple of warm days in 2005, my kids even went swimming. Last year, it was much warmer, although there was one day that we just about froze (50's). Even if it is warm during the day, it usually gets really cool (sometimes downright cold) in the evenings. It's not fun having to pack all those clothes, but you'll be glad that you did.

at this rate, i'm going to need a steamer trunk to carry 4 seasons worth of clothes for our december trip.....

layers are the best idea you can always take off clothes in the heat of the afternoon use the lockers in parks so you don't have to go back to your room to change its easy to put clothes back on in the cooler evenings small gloves help too the $1.00 cloth gloves one size fits all sold at target or any local walmart or drug store you can buy them at disney for more money with a mickey head on them or decorated them yourself with a patch from your craft store
average weather in dec.-73.3 high 52.6 low rainfall 2.31
dec is a great time for swimming too all pools are heated so don't forget your swimsuit
