December vs Jan or Feb?

We are just off the extended thanks to Matthew Dream cruise and we had the best time ever. We put down a placeholder on board and are looking to do a 3 day cruise sometime in the next 2 years. The biggest complaint from the family was that it was too hot on this cruise, so we are looking to go either in Dec 2017, or Jan or Feb of 2018. We loved the Halloween on the High Seas aspect of the cruise, so I think we would also love a Merrytime Cruise in early December. However getting away during the holidays is harder and if we went in January or February we could tie the cruise to a 3 day weekend from school which is becoming more important as my oldest will be in middle school next year, so it would mean missing 2 vs 3 days of school.

How much holiday stuff is there on a 3 day? Is it worth it to do a Merrytime cruise when it is only a 3 day? Or would Jan or Feb be just as good?

I can't speak to Dec but I've done both Jan & Feb. Now I'm a FL person and I can tell you the water is way too cold for this FL girl to swim in Jan & Feb so no swimming. Second, Feb as I found out can result in windy conditions. Not always but typically it's a much windier time to be in the Bahamian waters. That can result in rougher than normal seas. It did for me a few years back.
If I had those dates to pick from and $ wan't an issue, I'd do holiday but holiday cruises are very pricey. I'd second Jan though. It was a great trip and not cold.

Yes I am waiting patiently for the Jan/Feb 2018 itineraries to come out to compare pricing vs a December cruise. Cold water is my fear for sure. We did a Feb cruise to the Bahamas a few years ago and had a beautiful sunny day on the beach. My kids went in the water, but it was too cold for me. Trying to figure out where that sweet spot is between too hot and too cold!

Both of my cruises were February. It can be kind of chilly but warmer than expected when the sun is out. What I love is February is off season-ish and the cruises are quieter and cheaper. Not always but mine were.

We went the weekend right after Thanksgiving and it was very windy and cold the first 2 days.
