We will be visiting Disneyworld from Dec 13 - 20. Have any of you or your children been able to enjoy the pools during December?

We went once in mid January and it was too chilly for me to get in the pool. My DD got in but she's a kid and doesn't care. But December will be beautiful for touring the parks!

When we went the same time frame in December 2010 the weather was so crazy. The first part of our trip we had hats and gloves on and were from chicago. By the end of the week we had shirts on but never went in the pool.

We always go in December and haven't had a trip yet where we couldn't swim. I do always wrap the grandkids up quick when we are finished, though, and get them changed out of their suits asap. Swimming: It's not a big deal to us, though--we are from Texas and kind of "pooled out" by the fall, but the pools are just so nice at WL--kind of hard to resist, and I love to relax in the hot tub.

We just went this past December and my daughter went swimming twice. It was a bit chilly, but nothing too bad. She loved it.

We had unusually warm weather in our last two December trips (2011 and 2012) and enjoyed the pool at breakfast and throughout the day no problem.:santa:
I always get online to check the weather forecast the week before we leave for the temps. The temps given are normally right on. That way we can pack accordingly, so don't stress right now. You'll have accurate temp data a week prior.

Where are you staying? We'll be there about the same time and we're at the CBR!

How were the crowds and wait times diluting your trip during this time frame?

We were there in December 2011 and it was warm~in the upper 80's. We were not prepared for that! My husband and son packed shorts but my daughter and I packed capris and they were too warm. Before our trip I was speaking to a customer service person from Disney and when I asked about being able to swim she laughed and said that that depends on where we're from. Noting we were from the midwest she said we would be fine swimming in December. :rotfl:

We were there in December 2012 (and returning this December). The temps were mid to upper 70's during our stay. Our daughter wanted to swim every day and the weather was accommodating for the most part. :thumbsup2

We go every year in Mid December. This year will be our 6th Dec trip in 7 yrs. we will be there Dec 12th-26th. I'm not sure if its global warming or what but we have had hot above normal temps every trip except the cold snap of 2010. We've been able to swim anytime we wanted. Been to Blizzard Beach every trip. Even the 2010 trip that saw temps as low as 26, we had a day the temps shot up to 85 and we went to BB that day.

Out of the 60 or so days we've spent there in Dec I would say we had 20 days above 80 and probably only 10 days where it didn't hit a high of 70. Last December saw temps set record highs on 3 days.

The odds are you will be able to swim. We always go for 12-14 days so there is always some hot days. Obviously the shorter the trip you might not get lucky.

Thanks for the informations

We swam 2nd week of Dec. last year. We only had one day during our trip we wore long sleeves and it was in the morning.

We went in Dec. 2011 (first week) and my kids and DH swam. I am a big wimp, so I sat and watched. The kids didn't mind. :)

That was our first visit, had left snow in Ireland for the cold of Florida!!! It was weird, but the last part was lovely. Not only did we swim, we also did Blizzard Beach, that was great, almost empty

I assume the pools are heated, right? If so, the water should be a decent temperature. We are going the first week of December and hope to hit the pool.
