December or January cruise?

Can anyone give me some opinions here? ;) We're thinking about cruising with DCL next year (we went on the Wonder last year), and are having a hard time deciding when we'd want to cruise. The way I have it figured out, December 17-24, 2005 should be a western cruise and January 7-14, 2006 should be an eastern cruise. Now, assuming Disney will release these dates, which cruise would you take? We were thinking we'd prefer a western, but, we also thought January in St. Thomas/St. Maartin would be nice and warm. So, what do you think? Since these should be offseason rates, we'll probably get 2 verandah rooms.

Thanks! ;)

I would go for the December one. Although it does end on Christmas eve which may be hard to get home for Christmas.... but the ship is just SO beautiful in December, it is decorated to the hilt. Also there are many rumers and speculations about the Magic being moved to the west coast in 2005 so you may want to add the mexican rivera into your calculations. If that does not happen I can tell you that I have been on both the eastern and the western in December and the weather was delightful, I would assume the same would hold true in January.

I was also thinking the December cruise might be better, and now that you reminded me about the X-mas decorations, we may just have to go for it!

I'm not quite sure about the Mexican Riveria, I'm sure it is nice, but we'd miss Castaway Cay, which we LOVED! Plus, airfare to the west coast isn't as affordable as to Orlando. ;)

:sunny: January is my pick! I may book Jan 2006 western while on our Wonder trip in October. December is always so hectic with the Holidays and then once they are over there is nothing, but COLD AND SNOW!!! BLAH!

I was just thinking about how much I hate Jan and Feb.....So yucky depressing. It helps to have break from the gloomy weather..... Mexico and Grand Cayman are in the 80's in Jan:sunny:

My neighbors just got back and had a great time.

Whatever you decide I am sure you will have a great time!
