December Crowds

We (DH, I, and possibly my parents) are possibly going to DL in December to enjoy the holiday festivities. We would like to go in early to mid December to avoid the crazy crowds around Christmas. My question is, which days would be better to go based on crowds?
Dec 2-6
Dec 9-13

We would make the 6-7 hour drive on a Wednesday morning, spend Wednesday afternoon & Thursday-Saturday in the parks and drive home Sunday. We went back in 2003 right before Christmas, and it was crazy!!! Hoping to avoid that by going earlier in the month and spending some weekdays there.

We're going the 2nd through the 5th. I'm almost postive the 5th and 6th will be the days of Candlelight Processional. It's said the crowds for that are pretty big, but if you avoid Main Street the rest of the park is pretty decent.

I can't think of anything going on the following weekend. I would say go the 9th through the 13th to avoid the CP all together.

We like it mid month, DDs bday is 12-15 so we will be there around that time, last time we went in December the crowds were lighter and lines shorter. The drive takes us about 6 hours total, a little longer sometimes due to traffic but we also have to drive a bit farther than you do. Just be aware that it might snow and you might need chains to get over the Grapevine.....

We get in on the 5th -12th. It is true CP days are busy, but right after it cleans out and is nice. But for a less crowded trip I would go with the 9-13th. Just expect the weekend to be busy.

Definitely Dec 9-13. You will run into the tail end of Thanksgiving travelers if you go the first week of Dec. 2 weeks after Thanksgiving and 2 weeks before Christmas is definitely a great time to go.

Excited to go to DL for the holidays with fewer crowds. Last time was just a nightmare!!!
