December, CM parties and CP

Tried to do a search, but can't find what I need.

Does anyone know for sure when the CM parties are and when the CP will be this year?

Next question, how crowded is DL duing the CP? I assume we should aviod that weekend? Our annual passes expire December 11th, so we need to go either the first or second week of Decmeber to get the christmas magic we are seeking. Which is going to be less crowded?

cp was very crouded i was leaving for the day when the ppl were piled in for it. last year and my dh took my son out of the store i wanted to buy something and we had to meet each other after i was done.
It was so crouded I could see him across the way but the street had been cut off and ppl were every where I barely got acorss the way after i did my shopping and we left.

I liked the days we chose couse it was my bday (nov 30th) the cp was dec 1st) But next time i go it wont be diering that time.

his year it looks to be the first weekend of dec and secound weekend is to be cast partys but it hasnt ben released yet thats just what ive heard.

If you want to see the cp then grate but if you dont try to not be in the park that day after 3 (morrning was fine but after 3 id say they started pileing in and cutting street off and stuff)

I thought the cast parties would be Dec 1 and 2 and that they are always the first week of Dec?

Anyhoo... I'll be there 3 - 7. I've heard the CP is crazy busy but it's Main Street that is clogged up. The rest of the park isn't too bad. But I guess I'll find out for myself this year!

There has been no "official" word from DLR as to the dates on either yet. However, I believe a Dis member called and received word from a CM that the CP is on the 6th and 7th and the CM parties are on the 1st and 2nd.

EDITED TO ADD: I was just nosing around on another site, and they were reporting a CM phone call resulted with the information that the CM parties are the 8th and 9th.

Soooooo, I'm thinking we need to wait for DLR to give an official announcement.

Does CA get crowded on days of the CP? Looks like the only weekend we can be there given other issues is the weekend of the 6-7 (we will stay 5 or so days in all) So I quess we can just go to CA if DL gets crowded????

OMG I hope so, we tried SO hard to plan around these 2 events. If those dates are correct we will just miss them since we are there the 7th - 12th

From everything that I've heard on different boards, the CP's will be on the 6th and 7th. This is consistent with them being on the first weekend of Dec. from looking at the schedules of the past several years. As DangerMouse mentioned, different CM's have reported the dates of 1-2 or 8-9 for the CM parties. When I was planning our trip several months ago, I looked up the dates that the parties were held on for the past several years. They were always on the first Mon. and Tues. of the month. Some people have assumed that they are always AFTER the CP's, but that is not the case. Last year as well as the year before, they were after the CP's because Sat. and Sun. (when the CP's are held) occurred first in the month, before the first Monday and Tuesday, when the parties are held. This year, December 1st is a Monday, so I looked up a year that started on the same day as this one and the parties were held on the 1st and 2nd, (the first Monday and Tuesday) followed by the CP's on the Sat. and Sunday after that. So, from the previous years, it seemed that the parties would be on the 1st and 2nd. I made our plans for our trip on the 4th-12th, so that we could see the CP's and avoid the CM parties. If they are held on the 8th and 9th, then we will be there at that time. I called Guest Relations last week and they wouldn't give me any information at all regarding any possible dates for the parties, but from all the posts that I have read, most people have been told the 8th and 9th. So, as DangerMouse said, I guess we'll have to wait and see. When the Dec. hours are released (hopefully soon), we will know the dates by the park hours, so we won't have to wait for an "official announcement.

Nope! Ruthie, I think you picked a great time to go. You'll be leaving right before the CP weekend, and that's when the crowds set in. I went that time last year and we had the parks to ourselves.

What time do you think we could arrive Sunday and hang out at the parks for a few hours, or you think we should just wait first thing Monday AM to fit the parks? Also, we will probably fly out Friday Evening so we will have time Friday AM for the parks as well.

nov 30th last year was a grate time (yes it rained and i was sad becouse it was my bday and we had waited to do pirates island on my bday and with the rain they shut that down, so we missed it.

Nov 27-dec1st was last year and it was a grate ting mid dec becosue i want to see the elp were going mid dec becosue i want to see the eectric parade

You are correct, except the OP specifically mentioned CM Parties in her post. She used CP in reference to the Candlelight Processional.

Our trips will overlap again this year. WE are planning to fly down on 12-2 and return on Sunday the 7th. have you booked airfare yet? We just reserved our dates so I haven't looked much at the flight. We are staying at the new trendwest resort, because my friend and her hsuband are going and they have that timeshare. Where are you staying?
