This thread is so that people can talk about their trip, arrange meet and greets, share stuff like cabs and toasters, and get information on events and closures that may affect their trip. It is up to you to tell me that you want a meet and greet as well as arrange such meetings. It can be a large group for the whole day or 10 minutes in front of the castle. I collect data and you arrange things, lol.

Golden State Park and Amphitheater is supposed to open December, 2009. That is "in theory".

Closures and refurbishments

• Opera House is closed until Mr. Lincoln returns December, 2009.
• Disney's World of Color viewing area on the south side of the bay is supposed to open December 12, 2009.
• Starting January 2010 the area from the CALIFORNIA sign to Sunshine Plaza will be undergoing changes. CALIFORNIA sign will be removed and a Pan Pacific Theater type of turnstiles area will be installed. The current DCA turnstiles will be removed and the front area extended out to the new turnstile location. The Red Car Trolley line is supposed to be put in and the monorail bridge and shop facades will be rethemed.
• Point Mugu Tattoo, Man Hat N Beach, and Sideshow Shirts will close Fall, 2009 and reopen in 2010. They will be re-themed inside and out, including new facades.
• Mullholland Madness is scheduled for retheming and closure in early January, 2010.
• Dinosaur Jack’s Sunglass Shack is scheduled to close permanently on May 26th, 2009. It does not fit the new theming and while cute may be history.
• S.S. rustworthy removal is scheduled for removal Septembre, 2009 and no later than March, 2010.
• Removal of Pizza Oom Mow Mow and Burger Invasion, addition of a grill type of restaurant. Scheduled to start Fall, 2009 and finish by March 2010.
• Souvenir 66 and Corn Dog Castle close June 1, 2009 and may not be back until 2011. You can still get a corn dog fix at the red wagon near Plaza Inn.
• July 27, 2009 is the beginning of a year long closure of the Orange Stinger while it is getting a refurbishment, new theming, and a covered walkway.

We will be there the 12-16th staying at the HoJo. Celebrating DD9s 10th bday! OMG, when did my baby girl grow up?????

They do grow up fast and soon she will be off to college.

I updated this and will keep adding as things change. DCA is going to have a lot of stuff down and walls up in December. Golden Dreams all the way to Mullholland Madness will be walled and the area around the Orange Stinger. The shops on the south side may also be walled over for retheming at that time.

Hopefully they will have the viewing area open by then. Basically if you are going in December then expect lots of pretty Christmas stuff and a lot of closures in the pier area and lots of walls in the pier area.

I have been updating the info but have not bumped this recently due to health issues.
