My Thrifty is down to $235.95, for 9 days so it is dropping but National Alamo and Dollar is still the same.

Yay! I makes me happy to look at your festive countdown ticker and know we have such a short time. Edit: Ok... you inspired me to go get some countdown tickers of my own!

I am surprised that all of the in-airport agencies still have such high prices for early December, but there's still time. I'm sticking with Thrifty unless the total price of an in-airport agency gets within ten or fifteen dollars, and right now, it's about $60!

I have a full size from Dollar for 12/8 to 12/17 for 241.00. I used no codes, because when I used all the recommended codes, the price was higher! Go figure!

Hmm..now I am stumped. Hotwire just sent me an email with a rate of $114.94 (including fees and taxes) for Dec 7-Dec 11 for a midsize car. (Pontiac G6, Chrysler Sebring, Toyota Corolla, or similar).

This is only $3 cheaper than my Thrifty reservation. The plus would be that 2 of 3 possible rental agencies are onsite. They would either give me Hertz (off), Budget or Avis.

Any thoughts?

Went back to check and see the rates have dropped and everthing was 315.00 and up for a 10 day full size out of Savannah, Ga Dec. 21-31. Primetime and not many deals for this time frame. We leave nearby and need more room then we have.

I have quotes from 274.24-281.85. I was hoping things would change. Maybe I will get a hot deals e-mails before we leave.

I just checked the rates again, and Dollar is over $300 dollars MORE than what I have reserved for a 9 day rental! I am SO HAPPY I reserved when I did!!

My Thrifty rate for Dec 6-11 (using the Sams Club code) dropped a few dollars today, so I was able to change the ressie and add a day on for about $6.

Thanks for the tip. I used that $40 coupon. Dec 9-16 with an Intermediate for $201.

Was able to giggle the numbers a little for a 10 rental of a midsize SVU at Alamo for 265.00. Used one of thier coupons. Also Avis full size rental for around 281.00 for same time frame.

Would like to smoothness of a car but need extra luggage room of the SUV.

Try the OCVB promo code for your dates.....I just tried it and got a total of $221.99 including taxes...not much difference but every little bit helps!

We are renting from Dollar from Dec 11-Jan 8 and our total including taxes is 585.72 with the OCVB (Orange County Visitors Bureau) promo code.

I just extended my Dec stay to 12/12 - 12/17 and booked a new reservation with National Emerald Aisle. Used AMEX code 5125601 and ent coupont $20, for a five day rental $124.25 Emerald Aisle.

Thanks for the tip on National. Changed my ressie to use the $40 off coupon, brining my EA reservation to $159, from $183. Nice savings!

Wow. I wish I could get $125 from EA for my dates of Dec 9-16. Probably because I am doing Sat-Sat. But DANG! that would be so much better than $201
