I've had my Dec reservation w/Alamo since July, here are the details:
arriving 12/9 @ 3:30pm, dropping off 12/16 @2:30pm, Midsize reserved. I had a coupon from the Ent book and used rate vode BYW3, contract ID 430710 and my rate (inc taxes) is $188.09. It seems high to me for a weekly rate but I can't get it lower no matter what I try.

Anyone haveing better luck that I am?

It seems like a good rate to me. Since our rate is 262.50 for a 10 rental for a midsize SUV using a National 25.00 off coupon and an entertainemnt discount. I had a great ate however I dates changed and so when I went to modify the rate was sky high so I made a new reservation.

Have you tried Dollar? They seem to have rates special just for Flordia.

I have a compact through Dollar using code KISS2 with taxes and fees $132. Dec 13 -Dec19

I just changed my 10/28 to 11/4 rate again. I wanted to stay with National. I am getting $179.55 intermediate, emerald aisle, includes 2nd driver. I used the AARP code and the $20 coupon from the Ent book.
I did see the $134.73 with Dollar for a compact, but I chose to stay with National..

Thanks for the replies. I guess our price is not totally out of line then. Seems like car rentals have really gone up in the past few years.

I have not tried Dollar yet, do you have to wait at the counter? I would probably not look there if that is the case because we're getting in on Sat & like the ability to just get over to the garage kiosk & then get our car. We have the Quick Silver program with Alamo & EC with Nat'l so we usually try them first.

I am going to mess around with the rates & see if I can get a better deal on a different type of car with Nat'l & Alamo though. You never know till you try!

Keep looking (often). Also, Alamo has "last minute specials" which are published every week or so for the next 2-3 weeks. I'm hoping that the prices will go down too.

We have full-size with Alamo for 12/1 to 12/6 at $222.95. I am also hoping for a last minute special. I checked National and they were a bit higher.

We are planning on returning the car on 12/6 to the car care center as we leave the next day on our cruise and don't need the car after that, so our only real options were National or Alamo.

I have not rented through Dollar in Orlando, but I have in other cities and never had to wait at the counter. But that is because I have Dollar Express, just like quick silver. Check it out on line. Not sure how it works in Orlando. They may have a separate line or you just go to the gate.

I'll try to find out more about Dollar @ MCO. I think I already belong to Dollar Express as I was thinking of renting thru them before but didn't-not sure why.
The rate I'm getting for a intermediate is better ($146.43) or a full-size ($158.12) and since we'll be driving around abit due to our plans and ADRs we want something comfortable!
