December 2021 or 2022? Am I crazy?! Need advice

Hello Disney friends!
This may be my first time posting here but I have been reading topics on this website for years.
Lately, I have been considering taking a trip to Disney in December. I have a free trip to use complementary of the walt Disney company. I originally had it all set up for my graduation trip in 2020 ( but we all know what happened there)
I haven’t been to Disney since 2018. Doing a December trip has always been a goal of mine, the parks just look absolutely beautiful!!
Would you think it would be totally crazy to go this December? I feel right now there is a lot less planning involved then there was previously. (Maybe I’m wrong here?) ex no more FP+ or dining plans

So I guess the question is, would it be totally crazy to go this December or better to wait until 2022. decisions, decisions!

Also I was thinking early December, definitely not crazy enough to go Christmas week lol

I think the biggest issues with booking this late for December 2021 would be, possibly, diminished resort and dining reservation availability. If that doesn't bother you, nothing wrong with going this year!

Dining could be an issue but the resorts I would want are actually still available !!!

dinning options for reservations will be limited booking this late..

mans just FYI fastpass is back via lightning lane... but they aren't booked in advance anymore so that wouldn't matter for booking quickly.. just read up on how it works. It cost extra.

Yeah it seems like the downside would be dining options.
im a bit bummed there are no more fast passes but in situations like this it can work in your favor. Haha! I do know about the lightening lane and such but will never purchase it. I don’t agree with paying for something that was once complimentary but that’s just me

We’ll be there for 2 days in the beginning of Dec, I’m hoping for good weather and low wait lines. We’ve decided not to worry about dining reservations, we’ll eat where we can.
