December 2008 Rates

I was trying to check room rates for early December 2008 but the site will not let me. Have the rates not been released yet?

They have not been released yet. You can book room only with the rates now, but they will change once the new rates come out. They are rumored to come out next Saturday. I booked for January that way.

Like the previous poster said, you can book a room only reservation right now at the 2007 rates. When the 2008 rates come out, your rates will be adjusted.

I called Disney reservations on June 13, 2007 and was told that the 2008 rates for both room only and packages would be out mid-August.

Someone posted on the Disboards that the rates would be out June 23rd. So, I called Disney reservations again yesterday. She told me mid-August. I asked what was the earliest she had ever seen rates come out and she said July. When I asked about the June 23rd rumor, she said she had heard absolutely nothing saying they would be out that soon.

I plan on calling again, this afternoon, to see what they tell me. I'll post what they say.

P.S. If you want to get a general idea of what the package will cost, you can go online and get a price for this year and add about 17% to it. I was told, last year, that the rates go up between 15% to 18% each year.

The 2006 rates came out late June of 2005.

The 2007 room rates came out in Late July, the package rates came out in August because there was a problem with disney dining (some restaurants had not resigned with the program) and The Year of a Million dreams program was launched shortly there after.

I wouldn't trust the CMs. Just keep checking back by calling, the website takes longer to update, especially for the following years rates.

Knowing that Disney has oodles and oodles of CMs answering the phone, I waited about 15 minutes and called back. Sure enough, I got a different CM. I went through the questioning process again. I was told the exact same thing as I was before......possibility of first week of July......had heard nothing about June 23rd changes.

I sure hope that the rate change is just 6 or 7%!

That's excellent news ! DH most likely will be going back down to the Dolphin and Swan for a conference in October of 2008. I need to find out the room prices for CBR for him so we can start saving ahead of time (as well as another possible vacation there).

When I spoke with the CM yesterday, I asked if she would give me a 2007 rate quote during a regular season time so that I could get an idea of what my price would be. I assured her that I knew the rate she was giving me was for 2007 and that I knew it would be going up in 2008. She was very accommodating and was more than happy to do so. So that I can start planning by budget, I went ahead and added on 15% (hoping that it will be less).

You could call and get them to give you a quote for October, 2007 and do the same thing I did. At least you'll have an idea.

Yeah, that's what I was doing a while back between 2006 and 2007 prices. I saw the difference and tried basing 2008 rates on that. So, for example, if there was a $15 difference in prices between the years, I would add $15 to the current rate so that I can get a ballpark figure.

After talking to DH last night, we don't know if he will be able to attend that conference or not. The current director will be retiring in 2008 and there will most likely be a new director by October of next year. So right now, he's up in the air. We'll have to wait and see since the Director is the person who gives the ok for DH to attend and/or speak at these conferences.

Because of financial reasons I had to cancel this year's september trip so am looking forward to next year's. Also with booking it so early it gives me more time to pay it off- like having a vacation on layaway- gotta love it!!
