Welcome! Thus far DCL has been our only cruise line, but I imagine that will change in the not-too-distant-future!

We are soooo looking forward to this cruise. We are planning Palo brunch, and I think at least doing Remy for dinner. Not sure about Palo dinner right now. I can't believe it will soon be time for platinum/concierge to start their online check-in!!!

School starts for our oldest Monday, and three weeks later for our pre-k dd. I start the 25th, and DH starts teaching the middle of Oct. Thankfully we can all finish up before Dec 14!

I am in the midst of planning a going-away party for one of my best girlfriends. She is moving to OR the wek before Labor Day, so we are getting some things lined up to have a great time of celebrating our friendship. I don't know what the deal is...two of my five closest friends are moving within 5 weeks! I'm gonna need a drink or two on this vacation for sure! I won't be getting out as much as I used to.

Thanks for the welcome, Amanda. I will have one going back to college in 3 weeks, so it will be a different kind of busy than you will have. I will join you in a glass of wine on the cruise!!

I have spent several hours going thru these posts from the beginning and am up to #100 - wow! Only 30+ to go....You all sound so fun!

I wanted to get on here now, after I found out about DIS from our DVC membership rep, who was telling me about Fish Extenders. There is more to cruising with Disney than what meets the eye

I hope I get the lingo right...let me know!!

Some of our family has done Carnival cruises, but not DCL, so the 12/15/12 Fantasy will be our first. There's me, the DW, then there's the DH (who will love to see the cool gun pics), the DD23, the DS20, and possibly a DDBF22.

When we studied the American Revolution- I included code making and breaking in the curriculum. What better way to get a boy's interest than with spy stuff.

Remember Kevin (the hubby one) that the military tried to recruit me back in the 80's for my code breaking skills?
(Really I just took the ASVAB test to get out of a boring class)

I too would like to say, oh no that ain't right..........I would like to say to WahineMinnie and family!!! So glad you are joining us on the cruise. So glad you are joining our crazy bunch of crazies on here. We are protecting the names of the innocent, (and the guilty) of the crazier ones on here.

You picked up the lingo pretty good. The MVMCP stands for "Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party," which is held in the parks on certain days around Christmas time. DW, DGD and I have been several times. It is allot of fun for all ages. If you get the chance check it out. You do need to buy a special ticket to MVMCP. They close the park and then reopen and only allow in those who have bought the special ticket.

Glad to hear I got the lingo figured out pretty much, and once I read the part about what the MVMCP is, I thought to myself - of course that's what it is, you silly girl Unfortunately, DD23 works in retail, so we can only swing the 7 days for the cruise. We've been at WDW while the MVMCP was going on, but didn't actually get tix. Maybe some year.....

We reached a milestone today too....we got the DDBF22 added and we're now in a 5 person cabin

Been working on this for 2 months. Being DVC members, our cruise was actually 'paid' last October when we booked, so the DDBF22 had to pay today in full to add himself.

Thank goodness there was a comparable room available for all 5 of us to get into. DVC had NO more inventory of inside staterooms that could be 'paid' with points, so we had to beg, borrow (from my sister) and steal points.

We are finally all set.....

Now for the fun part...the countdown

Yes. CC cabanas can be booked when you can check-in/book excursions. That depends on your Castaway Club level.
