December 15, 2012 A Yo-HO-HO-HO Holiday Fantasy!

I love my Disney Dooney, but I'm fairly particular as are most women about purses. May I suggest a slush fund gift card this way she can buy whatever shiny bauble catches her eye or the exact purse she wants once onobard.

And every once in a while, Disney runs a sale on Dooney, and we have plently of time.

Or set her up with a rainforest pass to the spa. I've been in it and if she is a spa girl, she will LOVE it!

:figment:

This is to all the ladies out there in DIS Board Land. I want to surprise the little DW with a gift when we first get on board the ship. You know have it in the room when we get on board. I was looking at those Dooney & Bourke purses. What do ya'll think of those. I like the Disney Cruise Line ones, but what do you think...........good choice..........overly priced.........nice but you would rather have something else..........what is your honest opinions.

On our very first Disney Cruise, I got DW the string of pearls Disney Cruise Line had at that time. She has worn those pearls on all of our cruises and she gets allot of compliments on them. She always looks at me with a big ol' smile on her face and says her hubby got them for her. Will I got to tell ya my chest swells up so big I always pop a couple of buttons off my shirt at dinner. So you better watch out a learn to duck pretty fast!!!

David, they have some nice watches in the gift shop also. I can't seem to make it on board without walking away with one!

I love my Dooney wristlet, but only use it on the ship (perfect for holding the WAVE phone and my KTTW card). And as mentioned, picking out my own was mandatory...it is a pattern placement thing for such a small bag.

On a personal note, I have EASILY survived three days of retirment...I think this is going to be a piece of cake!

.

Ok thanks everyone for your input. Sounds like it is homogeneous..........errr.....unamous............errr...........unaanmiouis.......errrr sounds like everyone agrees. I should let DW buy her own purse. I know what I can do............................................................I can take her to dinner and a show after word that first evening!!!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 No......ok, I'll rethink this and come up with something else. Again, Thank you one and all for your input. It was very helpful.:thumbsup2

First- thank you for explaining why the wristlets are so popular, I honestly could not figure it out. Knowing it holds the wave phone makes more sense to me.

Second- you made it three days!! I retired in 1996. Left the corporate world to watch a friends child for the take home pay -the wardrobe and lunch costs.
I cleaned the house Monday morning and was totally bored by 1 pm.

So I took up homeschooling the next year. Now I have no time and something in the house always needs cleaning again. 8 more years until the last one graduates and there are no "science projects" going on. I'm gping to miss it. Might have to go find a job to fill in my days. (Unless I can convince Kevin to move back to Florida- might be fun to be a part time WDW CM)

David,
What about a gift basket in the room from Shirley at the Perfect Gift with some Bubbly, glasses and a new peice of jewlerY?? Learning to love bling!! Sounds like she loves bling. Or dinner at Remy and the Bling?? A Dooney and Burke, bling, dinner and a rainforest pass for the week and maybe throw in a couples massage and she might reveal the secret transmitter.:rotfl2:

If anyone is interested I would love to have members of our cruise meet send me their favorite holiday recipe, and even a picture if they have it, and then I will create a Dis Friend Holiday Recipe Book for our cruise, I know it is a bit early but this way you can think about what you would like to send in and not have to rush as the cruise gets closer, Let me know what you think...

Any one interested in reading a nice trip report with allot of pictures of the Fantasy's Maiden Voyage? Go to the trip report page and click on "Fantasy Maiden Voyage." This was written by "wickesy" from the UK who did the Fantasy Maiden Voyage and he posted their trip report on the UK DIS Board. But he provided a link to the UK report for us to read too. David, Sorry I have been very busy the last couple of days. How ever I think you may be on to something big here.:scratchin:scratchin

I bet if all of us "Worldwide MAN Club members" did something special for our wonderful DW's on the Cruise that would be cool. Now I know we would have to break out the ol'secret decoder rings........you still have the Capt. America one, right?..... because most of them read this board.

I am calling a meeting for say 0400 hours a week from Friday. Now that would be 0500 Mountain, 0600 Central, and 0700 Eastern(for you east coasters)

Be thinking of ideas and see you then.

Kevin

Hey don't Kevin worry about being AWOL for a day or two. Life keeps us all busy every now and then. And then work, has it's own way of keeping us tied up from time to time. No big deal my friend. Yep, still got the ol' Captain America Secret Decoder ring. Ok, ok, ok, ok, a week from tomorrow and it will be at................uuhhhhhh Kevin which zone am I in. Don't see any mountains here in Florida................ok...........I'm lost!!!!

You mean I did good boss!!! :worship:Oh Thankl you, :worship:thank you, :worship:thank you. You are such a good and wonderful boss.......I mean. I mean President.........so I'm not kicked out of the Man's Club??? :worship:Thank you, :worship:thank you, :worship:thank you!!!

Well, you know, I meant to set that up that way. I had this all planned out. (Ain't as dumb as I look now huh!!!)

But, seriously, I too think it is a good idea. We need to put our heads together and come up with something very special for the DW's. I have been looking for something special to give our granddaughter on the cruise. I think I'll wrap it up as a Christmas gift and let her open it up on the cruise. She will be very surprised. Psssssssttt...............now don't tell anyone..................but I plan on doing the something like that for Donna too. She'll either give me a great big ol' kiss...........or a smack on the back of my head!!!:confused3

Real men don't squirm we just :duck::duck::duck:

The Holiday Recipe Exchange sounds like fun and would give us some fun memories of the cruise as we try the different recipes. When are you thinking you need them by?

I think if I had the recipes by the end of September, I would have plenty of time to put a book together before we cruise. If someone would like to add this to the Cruise link that would be great, as I know new cruisers will probably check there and this post will get lost in the thread as we continue to discuss the important things like Toaster communications and Amazing DW surprises:goodvibes

You can count us in on the Holiday Recipe Exchange. The pictures maybe a problem though. Seems like before a picture can be taken of DW's holiday recipe, the plate is empty!!! I uhhhhhhhhhhhh, blame the cats every year!!!:cat::cat: They are animals - simply animals when it comes to food.

David,

Lets see if this works,

Pacific, That would be the Paciific Ocean so I am guessing West Coast. Don't know why they did not call it the Western Time Zone??????????

Mountain, I am thinking Rocky Mountains? They are the tall ones out west right?

Central, I believe that would be most of the middle states?????????

Eastern, This would be the East Coast???? Why they did not call it Atlantic??????

Just my thoughts, hope that helps.

Kevin

PS I still get them backwards and I moved out west from the east 15 years ago.
