December 15, 2012 A Yo-HO-HO-HO Holiday Fantasy!

Thanks, davidls! Some people think it's childish and downright weird. I happen to think it is good ol' Disney FUN! I don't always take a plush, but when I do, it makes for some very interesting photo ops! ;)

DW and I think like you do Shari - just some good ol' Disney Fun!!! We don't always take Duffy with us either - but when we do he is ready, willing and able for the photo shoots!!! (He's such a ham!!!) :lmao:
We are going over to WDW for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Parade in December with our daughter and grandson. I hoping I can get a picture of Mickey holding our Duffy with our grandson. :thumbsup2

I hope they do too. It would be cool to see everyone's reactions the 1st time.

It appears that they have the ability to have a talking Mickey Mouse! Right now, Mickey is mute when you meet him at a character meet & greet. The one in the video talks.

I took my ShellieMae to Epcot today and she met Duffy for the first time! He was thrilled to meet her. I know Shari was at Epcot too, but somehow we never ran into each other. My brother and I went and had a good time. He loves the Cheddar Cheese soup and wanted a full bowl, not the sample size at the F&W Festival. So we had lunch at LeCellier. Then we walked as much as we could to burn off those calories. :rolleyes1

Thank you. I noticed that but I thought I was looking for something cruise related. :upsidedow

Like Holly said they have been able to give Mickey his voice, and he blinks his eyes as well. Makes him more life like. I think all of the kids, (and me too - just one big kid at heart), will get a big kick out of seeing Mickey and hearing him talk back to them. Goofy, Minnie, Donald, and all of the rest can't be fair behind!!!:cool1::banana::cool1::banana:

Sounds like you and your brother had a GREAT time at EPCOT Holly. Can you post a photo of your ShellieMae with Duffy at EPCOT? I've never seen a picture of ShellieMae. Where did you find her? Are they available at Downtown Disney?

Holly - I love it when Mickey and others have been "animated" (eyes, mouth) in some of the shows, remember? BTW - I did not take Duffy yesterday. My mom loaded up her rollator with her own stuff, and there wasn't any room for him. I didn't feel like carrying him all day. I actually almost said hello to THREE different women who DEFINITELY could have been you, but weren't. Same hair, face, build, expression . . but no ShellieMae or rollator. I finally started ignoring your look-alikes. I guess it's been too long since I've seen you! :rotfl2:

We went at a snail's pace all around Epcot, ate in Norway, sat through American Adventure again, took the boat to YC and spent a little time there, back to Epcot where I greeted Tigger & Pooh (no Eeyore - another cutback?) and Chip 'n' Dale (sadly, no one I knew). My mom complained about the missing Off Kilter, of course. We ate at Perkins outside DTD before heading home. The surprising part? She picked up a DCL brochure at YC and started saying how she MIGHT like to go on another Disney cruise "someday." :lmao:

Lets see if I can get this to work. The first photo is one of Duffy and ShellieMae, and the second one is my ShellieMae posing with Duffy in Epcot yesterday.

Someone REALLY needs to teach those characters NOT to cover up the plush (and their costumes) so much in photos shoots! :rotfl2:

Did you tell him she'll be on DCL soon? :woohoo:

You did a GREAT job Holly. Those are wonderful photo's, thanks for sharing them. Your ShellieMae sure is cute. Do you know if they are available at Downtown Disney? :confused3

Thank you...or ShellieMae says thank you! :goodvibes

Right now ShellieMae is not available in the US. I had to get her from Japan. There is another forum where a guy that lives there, goes "shopping" a couple of times a year, which is how I got her. Not totally sure I recommend it as once he adds on all his "tips" it's extremely expensive. You can find them on eBay - but they are also super expensive and there is the danger of it being a cheap knock-off.

I hope Disney gets with the program and brings her over. She got lots of comments from people wanting to know how to get her.

Hello everyone, I have enjoyed reading the thread and website. I am learning a lot. My DH, DD (8 years at the time of the cruise), and myself will be on the Dec. 15, 2012 cruise on the Fantasy. It is our first cruise ever for all of us and we are very excited! :yay: We figure is the world is going to end, there would be no better place in the world to be. :banana: We live in Costa Rica but have gone to WDW a couple of times, once in Dec. 2004 and another in Feb. 2006. So this is the next step.

My husband thinks I am crazy to plan so far ahead, but after reading this thread, I told him that I am not the only one! :rotfl2:

I am considering doing the FE but need to read more about them to understand.

We are considering doing a dolphin encounter, I think there is one in St. Thomas (Tortola),....has anyone done that before?

Still a year + to go but that is ok, gives us time to save our dollars for fun stuff on the ship!

Have a great one everyone!

Family Abel (my name is Clara my last is Abel, yes I am actually Clara Belle like the cow on Howdy Doody) :rotfl2:

:welcome::welcome: Clarabelle and Family! :welcome::welcome:

As for myself, I've not planned any excursions. I think I'd like to do the SkyRide in St. Thomas - but that doesn't need a planned excursion on the website or anything.

You will be surprised how fast the time goes and before you know it - this cruise will be here!

Thanks for the nice welcome! I am just trying to gather as much information as I can so I know what to expect. Already our room was downgraded from a 6B to 7 category, but after an extensive search regarding the room, we decided it was ok for us. Its aft and has one of the small verandahs...but hey, we were going for the portholes in the first place (cheaper) but got this room for the same price (now I know why :laughing: ). Off to do more research!

Clarabelle and Family! And all the others who have signed on lately.
:welcome::welcome:

Happy Friday every one.

Clara - I am very surprised that you know about the Howdy Doody Show!!! Now I do - use to watch it as a kid - loved it as a kid - but I am older then dirt!!! My DW and I talk all the time about do you remember this or do you remember that, mostly about old TV shows, and we remark that no one around knows or remembers anything about most of our memories or old TV shows!!! And then you mention this about the Howdy Doody show. WOW!!!!
