December 15, 2012 A Yo-HO-HO-HO Holiday Fantasy!

In case no one saw it. This was posted earlier today,
"We are going on one of the cruises that stops there and I found this link in the FAQ thread." Link did not paste, I tried. It was in the "Eastern A or B" thread.

It gives some idea what might be offered.

Have a great time AmandaRG:cool1:

Kevin.

We told the girls at dinner as we watched the Magic sail by. Now they are bouncing off the wall. Might have thought twice about the surprise if I had known how silly it was going to make them!

I think I'd act pretty silly if someone suprised me with a cruise for the next day too! :yay:

How are ya'll doin' today? Fine I hope.:thumbsup2 I was actually going to post yesterday evening, but our power went out for over 2 hours.:confused3 We found out later, there was a car accident that knocked out our power. Don't know how badly anyone was hurt though. Hope they are doing ok today.

My daughter, grandson, DW and I are going to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Parade in December.:thumbsup2 This wiil be our grandson's first special event at Walt Disney World. He has been over to WDW several times, but never to any of the special events like Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Parade. He is only 5 years old, and we know he is going to have a GREAT time. We all are really looking forward to seeing his reactions. :cool1::banana::cool1:

Well, I hope everyone has a GREAT day today. Talk to you again soon!!!:yay:

Doing fine here. My brother and I are thinking of going to WDW on Tuesday, likely spending the most time in Epcot. He loves the Cheddar Cheese soup and the F&W Festival is still going on.

It so wonderful to have the cooler weather here in Florida!

As for special events, I am hoping to finally make the Candlelight Processional this year. I'd like to go see Marlee Matlin. I am learning ASL (American Sign Language) so it would be even more interesting to me.

Happy Halloween to everyone!

Holly - My mom and I are thinking of going to WDW on Tuesday also. Only a 10% chance of rain! :beach:

Cool, if we all do - then we'll have to plan to at least say "hi" to each other! I'm thinking of taking my ShellieMae since she's not been yet.

I may take Duffy - if he can ride on my mom's rollator again. I get tired of carrying him around all day. :moped:

As much as I hate having to use it, I'll have to take my rollator. I don't think I can make it around the park with just my cane at this point. Actually, Tuesday will be the anniversary of my surgery, so I'm thankful I am so much better than a year ago!

The upside is that ShellieMae can ride in my rollator or on the front of it.

For those who may be newer to this thread or even those who don't really know the Disney plushes: Duffy is one of the "newer" Disney plushes. I put that in quotes because he's actually been around for years. If you go to Epcot, they have a character meet with him, and one of the stores has Duffy merchandise. ShellieMae (or Shellie May) is his friend/girlfriend and right now she can only be obtained from Japan. Unless you count the people who put them up on eBay.

While many people make fun of the people who love the Disney fun things, such as pin trading, plushes, liking to do character meets, etc., I don't care. I like to have fun, so I went ahead and got a ShellieMae. Let them look askance. I'm just so happy to be able to have fun after the last couple of years that I went through.

ShellieMae has not been to Disney yet, so this will be her first excursion outside of the house!

I can so relate. I had a bad car accident back in 1997 and my wonderful wife had to push me around DW in a wheel chair. I owe her big time for that one. It was a year before the Docs would let me walk on it. You all have a great time.

You know PhantomsGirl, DW and I were talking just a little while ago about going over to EPCOT and seeing the Candlelight procession this Christmas. We haven't done that for few years years now. I got on to find out who is going to be there and saw that Marlee Matlin is going to be there. We both said we would like to see her as well.

Who cares what other people think. As long as you are having fun, that is all that counts. That is the position DW and I take. I knew of Duffy but I had not heard about Shellie May. We have Duffy, take him on the cruises with us. Get all sorts of photo's with him in new places he's visiting. I can't let him be all by himself. I have to get him his girl friend too. Thanks for letting us know about Shellie May.:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Have you seen the slideshow on my Duffy's website here? That was on the Wonder last October. He got WONDERful treatment in the dining rooms, and my mom was with me so he rode on her rollator a lot. That cruise was full of great photo ops and the CMs were highly amused! :rotfl2:

I went solo on the Magic last December. I took Duffy, Chip & Dale, but mostly they stayed in the stateroom. I didn't make a habit of carrying them around on that one! :sad2:

Booked this cruise in July while on the Dream! Counting down until we sail! I am new to the Disboard and the meet, but I have read about the secret santa type exchanges and hope to be a part of the fun! We are booked for deck 12! pirate:

I too want to :welcome::welcome::welcome: BlazerK91 to the cruise. Glad ya'll could join us.

And HAPPY HALLOWEEN to everyone!!! Have a safe and fun holiday!!!

Taswira, I did check out your Duffy the Bear slideshow.:cool1: It was GREAT. I haven't done anything like that for our guy. Guess I'm going to have to get on the ball here and do up something real nice like you did. Thanks for sharing:thumbsup2 - it gave me some good ideas!!!

Thanks, davidls! Some people think it's childish and downright weird. I happen to think it is good ol' Disney FUN! I don't always take a plush, but when I do, it makes for some very interesting photo ops! ;)

Holly #3 or #2 here. (It has been a while, I forgot how many Holly's are on this trip. :rotfl:)

Happy Halloween to all and welcome to all the new cruisers on this thread.

I have been gone for a while, but certainly have not forgotten all you great folks.

I got so tired of my ticker saying 1 year+, I booked a short cruise to hold us over. Actually another thread on the main Cruise line threads mentioned a military discount was available for this Dec. on the Dream (12/15/11). So we jumped on it. I had to cancel my 2013 cruise in order to do so on such short notice in order to pay for it, but it will be so worth it. We got a great deal!! Our family needs a quick little getaway. We are going to stay one night on DVC points at the Wilderness Lodge prior to the cruise, which I am just as excited about. Love the Lodge at Christmas time.

Anyway, hope all is well with everyone. Looking forward to having some more time to check in with you guys more often.

Take care all.
Holly #3...or #2 :)

Taswira, I loved Duffy's Journal. I know Morgan is bringing Panda and Think Christy is bringing her stuffed animal. I think they are going to do a pictorial journal..Where is Panda? Not sure yet. I think we should have a stuffed animal meet!! Pictures of all the animals together.
