December 10, 2009 3 Night Bahamian Cruise

so I bought my gifts for everyone for the FE, except the candy. But everything else I bought so one thing out of the way. And I know it will be enough because it is like 75 of one of the thing and 50 of the other. One of the things would be good to use at Castaway Cay

Hello Fellow Cruisers! Wow I can't believe it's just a few months away now!
I look forward to running into some of you via the kids, clubs, meets. Due to the work involved, and me working up until a few days before the cruise, I won't be participating in the FE exchange. We did it on the 7 day Western in Feb. and it was definately a blast! People on these boards are soooo creative!:goodvibes
Anyone have any idea what the weather might be like? I've never been on DCL during the holidays and am so looking forward to decorations! :santa: Does anyone know if they do anything special "holiday related?" Tree lighting and such?

So, we booked the Repo from LA to Vancouver cruise in 2011 today:cool1::cool1::thumbsup2

COngrats! You are quite the cruiser...I am VERY jealous! This is our first cruise, and with the price hikes with Disney, it may be our first and last and if we all like it, we may have to change lines....

Well since this is your first cruise with DCL, might be easier for you to change lines then it is for me:lmao:. I have cruised so many times and have so many friends that cruise DCL or work for DCL and I want to see from time to time, I keep on booking DCL, I would love to go on RCCL cruise out of NJ, but with so many DCL cruises booked I just have no time. And I've also heard if you try DCL first as a cruise you it is hard to try another line, but who knows

So I have for got did we all start talking about a meet and greet type thing for this cruise, if so what day, what time, and where I don't really remember, thanks for the info

The meet and greet is on embarkation day at 3:00 pm in the Promenade Lounge.:goodvibes

Cool!! I'd love to go on that one! How were you able to book so soon? I thought it wasn't available until 9/28. Maybe all your cruises gave you priority? :)

yeah I am a Gold memeber, so got to book yesterday, it should be a good cruise stops in San Fran:goodvibes

That is true - I am jealous of all the cruises you have taken on DCL. :goodvibes

I am a die hard Disney fan, but their prices aren't making me happy. My kids both love Disney as well, but even at 7 1/2 after they heard me tell DH that a 7 day on RCCL for the same week and same itinerary in 2010 is $1k less than Disney, my DS said, well that's easy, we go on the Royal one!

So, unless there are so huge specials out there for a longer cruise, this may be our one and only on Disney, so I'm happy I've met so many great people already on our threads! And, you never know, I could totally be swayed by the Disney experience and book regardless of the price difference. The big question is - will my family LIKE cruising and not get sick. :lmao: If we/they hate it or are sick, then doesn't matter on price. It WILL be our first and last. :rotfl:

Disney's prices for cruises are insane! Really nuts. i've cruised Carnival and RCCL so many times and find each one of them a perfectly wonderful trip. Disney is going to have some serious work to do to convice us that the price difference is worth it or this will be our one and only Disney cruise! I would soooo love to do the Alaska cruise in 2011 with DCL....but i am sure the prices are going to be soo crazy it won't even be an option!

Yep - crazy is true. If you check out the sticky people that booked on 9/21 have listed their prices. I am also a little put off by the new classification of Castaway Cay members, and that if you are a higher level, you get a small price break and higher OBC. Seems like a punishment to those that haven't sailed with DCL many times....

It almost seems like backward logic. If they've cruised that much before with DCL, they probably will again. Plus it's not much incentive for the newer folks.

So, my dad and I just booked today on the first Alaska cruise on the Wonder, so hopefully in 2011 we are doing another b2b Disney Cruise:cool1:.

Yeah I love DCL. I love seeing Cruise Staff I have met on other cruises and having them remember us, they are like old friends then everybody I have met on the disboards on every cruise has been great and I am sure this group will be great as well.

Can't wait to get on the Wonder, so I think this cruise we all need a group picture at the dis meet on the first day:cool1::thumbsup2

I think a group picture would be nice. We've been planning this cruise--some of us--for 18+ months. We're are getting close to Cruise day!!!!:cool1:

yeah, I think a group picture at the meet would be great. All the other meets I have been to had one and it was been a good way to remember all the people I meet:thumbsup2
