I am still so confused.

If I am buying directly from Disney and if the MF's are prorated for the calendar year, if I get a December U/Y..........

am I technically paying only 1/12 of the MF's and still getting my 150 points usage for that year??????

Can someone please help clear this up??

Thanks

Disney does prorate the maintenance fees based on date of purchase. If you purchased right now, you'd get December, 2004 points and would owe maintenance fees for 6+ months. You would get points renewed on December 1 and the 2006 maintenance fees will be due in January, 2006.

Maintenance fees are based on the calendar year- regardless what the Use Year may be. Disney prorates these fees, the fees with resale purchase will be negotiable.

I wouldn't select a Use Year based on the prorated first year's fees. If you wait until December to purchase, you would pay 1/12 fees regradless of the Use Year. You could purchase a February Use Year on December 31 - get all of the 2005 points to use (by January, 31, 2006) and owe ZERO maintenance fees for 2005. No fees would be due until January 2006, for the 2006 Use Year. You would get another allottment of points on February 1, 2006.

Enjoy!
