My daughters (22 & 24) and I have 4 day hoppers for 12/20-23 (our travel days are the 19th and 24th). My husband and I expat in Luanda Angola and he has to stay in country for Christmas so I thought we would do something different.

this will be our 3rd visit to DL but our last trip was summer of 2015.

we are staying offsite, hoping for genie system (we will upgrade it), prioritizes are holiday decorations / events, fun cocktails, and rides.

Any tips or suggestions? We are very experienced at WDW but no covid era experience

Book your dining as soon as it opens up. It's been extremely difficult to get dining reservations. If you cannot get into the restaurants that have cocktails in the park, you can always go to the Hearthstone bar in the Grand Californian hotel. They have really good drinks there.

If you arrive at park opening for DCA, you can get through most of the headliners within the first 2 hours of the day.

There are tasty cocktails available through quick service mobile order in DCA too, not just at table service restaurants. For example, the Japanese Mule at Lucky Fortune is soooooo good and will sneak up on you fast. Another tip for this time period is to expect crowds and try to plan some downtime in the 2-5 time period when everything is busiest. We like to explore the parks or eat during that time instead of rides.

Do you have your park entry reservations booked? If not, do that now. They fill up and the way Christmas falls this year a lot of schools will be out that whole week- I know we are (we are not in CA).

I second getting your dining reservations as soon as possible. Know that currently they aren't all opening up on time and it can be kind of random as to when they drop. If you don't get what you want keep checking and there are a couple of alert services you can use. Those alert services got us everything we wanted for our trip last week.
