I officially booked our stay at the WDW AS Sports Resort. Stayed there 2 years ago...and it is affordable and doable.

:confused3
My questions are because of traveling to WDW during Christmas are:

1) Is MK open on Christmas Day? They do have a parade that day don't they?

2) Does any of the parks close earlier because of the holiday? or not open on any of the days were going? (Gee....I'd hate to disappoint the kids :earsgirl: :earsboy: ).

3) I noticed that the Very Merry Christmas Celebration started at 7:00 pm....so you can go the park earlier that day with your Magic Your Way card?

4) We're traveling with hubby's parents and their not interested in going to WDW again or in fact they just want to go to Epcot. They need to rent a car preferable Enterprise because they'll bring it to the resort...correct? You do have Enterprise down there...sorry from Wisconsin. Parents are using the "magical transportation express" service, to and from the airport. Just want it at the resort.

5) When using the Magic Your Way Ticket not with the park hopper...can you go in the morning to your park of choice, leave, go back to hotel, let the kiddos :earsgirl: :earsboy: rest, then go back to the same park you were at earlier in the day? (Didn't travel with kiddos that last time we were there.)

If you can't tell...I'm a true planner. I would appreciate any information you can give me about these days of travel (Dec 19-26). Early closers or openings...or anything that may help me in preparing for a "MAGICAL VACATION."

Never too early to plan as DIS!

1) Yes, Mk is open on xmas day--in fact, the park often fills up and closes to the public on Xmas morning (before noon, at any rate).

2) To my knowledge, all parks are open normal (even extended) hours before, during, and after Xmas.

Not sure about 3 & 4, but I do know that Enterprise is often criticized on these boards and on other sites. Perhaps, they're better in WI, but, in FL, many tourists have had trouble with them. Try asking on the TRansportation Board here at DIS.

5) Yes, you can leave and return to the SAME park on the same day with the MYW ticket. If you pay extra for the "hopper" feature, you can go to other parks on the same day, too.

Good luck planning,
Took

The MK will definitely be open on Christmas and like the previous poster it will probably be at full capacity by noon. It is one of the most crowded days of the entire year. There will be an afternoon parade and probably two evening parades.

2) Does any of the parks close earlier because of the holiday? or not open on any of the days were going? (Gee....I'd hate to disappoint the kids :earsgirl: :earsboy: ).

The parks are actually open later during the holiday because of the crowds. I would guess the MK would be open until probably midnight or 1 am on Christmas Day.

Yes you can enter earlier in the day with you MYW tickets. If you want to stay for the Christmas party you will need to buy tickets to that event since it is not included with the MYW tickets.

4) We're traveling with hubby's parents and their not interested in going to WDW again or in fact they just want to go to Epcot. They need to rent a car preferable Enterprise because they'll bring it to the resort...correct? You do have Enterprise down there...sorry from Wisconsin.

We had great luck with National on our last trip but we used the Emerald Aisle service at the airport. The transportation board will be able to help you more with this.

Yes you can leave the park and go back to the hotel and then return to the same park if the park is not at full capacity. WDW resort guests are guaranteed admission to a park but it may not be the park of your choice. If it is important for you to be in the MK for Christmas day you might plan on getting there early and staying all day.

Welcome to the DIS!!!!

Separate Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party tickets are purchased from Disney on the web or if not sold out at the resort. However, I would expect the last day of the event to be Dec. 16 this year. It may not be going on when you are there. I would like for it to run longer since I don't arrive until the evening of the 16th.

The MVMCP thread at the top of the page lists "projected" dates as late as Dec. 18th & 20th for the party. I have my fingers crossed that this will be true, because we aren't arriving until the 19th.
