On a brighter note, great update! One of my friends is about to leave to check in to the college program next week, and I am SO jealous! It's something I always wanted to do when I was in school but never did, and now I regret it. I'm trying to think of a way to visit her for a long weekend while she's there, she said she gets great discounts on rooms! We'll see, don't know how DH will feel about me going to WDW for a weekend without him!

I LOVE WL! Of course you had a fantastic CM checking you in, because they're all amazing there! It's too bad you didn't get some kind of upgrade, but at least you got your requests!

Yay for short waits on 2 of my favs, RnRC and ToT!

Magical that the lady went to check out RnR and you had a short wait, then go back for a short one for ToT. Didn't know you could ask what gangster was on your ride and you could wait. Made a note of it. Ohh waiting for bro and dad didn't you go crazy wanting them to hurry up and get there? Please don't make us wait to long on what roome you got. Can't wait to hear all about it. CMs do get great discounts! They get 50% off the room if the CM stays with you or 40% off rooms if the CM doesn't stay with you. Right now they are offering a special for CMs for mid Feb-early April, 60% off rooms if the CM stays with you or 50% for friends/family plus the DDP for $27.99 but for that the CM has to call to book it which kind of stinks for the friends/family one because of not knowing what's available and dates since the CM has to call and can't book it online like the other discount rooms. ...I always LOVED THOSE DEALS!!! They also get a small discount on park hoppers but only like 10% and they do get good restaurant deals too, 20% off TS meals but they add 18% gratuity so there are great perks as well as Cirque discounts, water park discounts, and merchandise discounts too!

Thanks! We got up to the front podium at GMR and we asked if the cowboy scene was running, she said yes, and we asked if we could wait. She made us stand off to the back of the loading area and waited until the next car arrived. They only run cowboy when they are busy so like early Jan/Feb and in the early fall, I don't think they run it.

I won't make you wait on the CL..we didn't get CL. She pretty much said they were booked which at WL, the smallest WDW resort, I do believe that esp since it was mid Dec. but I think she tried to make some magic!

And we did get some pixie dust in our room..and it wasn't just Towel Animals!!

We love love love WL! We first stayed there in 2000 as a surprise. My dad told us we were staying at POFQ which is where we stayed in 1992, 94, and 96 so it was like home for us and we were happy about it since in 98, we did a split stay at Poly and POR (and decided we loved POFQ after POR!).

He totally faked us out but we knew locations at that point and knew we weren't going to POFQ to check in but dad told us we were going to WL just to check it out. My brother and I kind of nagged because we were anxious to get to POFQ to unpack and go swimming but when we pulled up to the gate at WL, security asked our whereabouts. My dad said we were checking in and turned around and said surprise!! My brother and I were both jumping for joy and after that first stay in 2000, we've stayed there on most of our trips: 2003, 05, 07, 08, 09, and 10. It's our home now! Although after having said that we'd never stay at YC, my parents did enjoy it on our trip in 09 (for one night before WL) which is also my 2nd fav resort now!

I was shocked! The CM at the FP machine said that the tickets were running low and may run out at any point of us standing in line but we were able to get 4!

ROOM 5005 and a Surprise!!! 1/9

Hi Dis Friends!!

I hope everyone had a great weekend! It looks like most of the US are going to be getting storms throughout the week..keep safe!!!!

Things are slowly getting patched up at home. It will be nice when everything is normal again

Bro spent the weekend with my Aunt and Uncle who live south of Tampa..and they took him to the Oyster Bar yesterday (yay Erin!!!!)
He'll be heading back to Orlando tomorrow to oversee the electric and water being turned on in their townhouse and then he'll start cleaning, shopping, and looking for a job!

I'm also trying to figure out when to go back to WDW. My Praxis exam (9th time is a charm maybe?!) is on March 12th so it can't be before then but it can be after then but before Easter. My birthday is 3/19 which is the weekend after my test. It would be nice to go then, flights aren't too bad, resort rooms aren't bad either with my AP discount, and meals we'd figure out too. I'd LOVE LOVE LOVE to eat at CRT but I'm not sure I want to use 2 credits for it. At this point, I'm 26, NEVER have eaten there, and maybe I should wait until I have kids or do it on a future trip?? We'll see!!


Now for the update!!!

FRIDAY DEC 10TH CONT.

It was just after 2:30 when we got back to WL. I got the text saying our room 5005 was ready! Now I must tell a little secret..shhh! You know my friend that works at CSR, well she peeked to see if my requests were made and told me our room number the day before!

We got into the elevator..one day I'll have that yellow key card like at YC again..one day but not today! and we hit 5!

We followed the signs and walked and walked and walked. We walked past another set of elevators and kept walking! Our room was the last on the row before the ones that face out directly at the lake..
5005:

I ran to the sliding glass door and was in awe once again with the view!

This was also our view. Not the best with the trees but you could see the docks a little bit!

After setting our things down, we did inspect the beds and the dresser...both were BUG FREE!!!!!!

Dbro immediately climbed up to the top bunk and crashed. Now for those of you with older kids that think, my kids too old for the bunk bed...I'm here to tell you that my bro is 23, 6'4 and still sleeps in the bunk! He curls up when he sleeps so it's not a huge deal for him and he enjoys it too!

I called luggage services after the inspection and our bags were to our room in less than 10 mins. That sure beats the 3 hours it took the night before at POP! Once again, magic! After unpacking, mom, dad, and I grabbed our mugs and went to the pool!

It was starting to get chilly at that point so we used the hot tub which wasn't too crowded!

We left around 4 to get ready for our dinner at WCC at 5:10..REMEMBER THE ADR I MAGICALLY BOOKED WHILE ON THE PLANE!!!!!

When we got back to the room, bro was still sleeping but there was a surprise on our table..

There was also a note that I didn't take a pic of, but it read:
" WISHING YOU A MAGICAL VACATION FULL OF MEMORIES THAT WILL LAST A LIFETIME. THE CAST AT DISNEY'S WL AND VILLAS"

I immediately called my friend D and asked if she put this in the room notes, she said no, looked up the room notes from CSR and said it was whoever checked us in...CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?! I at that moment decided when we got home that I was going to write a letter to both POP (ugh!) and WL


That was some pixie dust!! I didn't see her again in the lobby to thank her but I did mention her name in the letter I sent to WL!

After enjoying a still hot cookie, we all got ready for dinner at WCC, followed by Osborne lights at DHS, TSM FP, and Epcot for Illuminations, and EMH!

-WOULD WE ENJOY WCC FOR DINNER SINCE WE USUALLY GO FOR BREAKFAST?!
-WILL TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES AT TSM KEEP US FROM SEEING THE LIGHTS?!

Since you are going to disney so much, can you get a seasonal job there where you just have to work 2 days a year or is that what you had before and are not longer eligible? Just curious

Love the pics of WL! It's making me rethink my resort choice for my next trip...I'm excited for AKL, but I just LOVE WL so much!

I kind of want to get a bunk bed room sometime...and sleep on the top bunk!

I was always curious what the rooms with the bunk beds looked like. So your brother is 6'4 and can still sleep comfortably on them (curled up like you say) would me being 5'6 sleep okay on them? Reason I ask is sometimes it's the only room category with a Woods view that I'm offered with my travel agent discount. I always shied away from the bunk beds thinking they were too small for an adult.

Well, I was Seasonal from Jan 09-May '10. I was told when I got the status that I only had to work once a year for 40 hours and I'd keep it. Well it turns out that either my manager was given wrong info or it changed but I needed to work twice a year for 40 hours (spring and fall/winter) pretty much to keep it which I didn't know. I got online early May to check out my hotel info for my trip there to work mid May in 2009 and it wouldn't let me online so I had to call Casting and was told I was withdrawn and that was why.

At this point, my plan is to hopefully pass my Praxis and then head back down to FL to get a FT teaching job and then do WDW seasonally on some weekends and in the summer and establish my status again. Sadly it won't be at BBB because my training as expired and they don't offer seasonal but I would take pretty much anything..pretty much that is!!!

Thanks! I've never stayed at the villas at WL but they are next to the lodge so it is a bit of a walk to get food but they share the same pool and the ambiance is pretty dark unlike BC for example so maybe that's why..but they don't call it WL for nothing!

We also love AKL but we love WL more! Sadly, it's because of it's location though! We've only stayed at AKL with a car but I'm not sure how much I'd love it having to take buses every day for a week. I guess there's only one way to find out!

I'm 5'4 and sleep in them fine. Of course it's not going to be as comfortable as a queen bed but it's not awkward then with a bro/sis sharing a bed at 25 and 23 yrs old!!

I think the categories at WL are: Standard, Woods, Woods BB, Courtyard, and Courtyard BB, both the bunk beds might be on the same price level meaning Woods BB might be more than courtyard 2 queens but I'm not sure??

Thanks! I'm stuck on 0011, Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment. I guess PA has the hardest and highest passing score for the exam but based on my GPA I'm able to score a 166 instead of 168 and still pass. The highest I've gotten is a 165 so we'll try again in March! I pretty much have every study book, I've taken a review course both online and campus, and still haven't passed. I've actually resorted to getting out my college binders and started going through them to see if that helps!
