Walt Disney Travel Company has extended the 2007 package rates thru January 15th of 2008 for those checking in up til December 31st, 2007.

So.. you can be assured of 2007 rates for those first 15 days of 2008, provided your check-in date is December 31st or earlier.

Hope this is helpful!

Yes, but Dec 31st and the days prior to that are Holiday Season prices (by far, the most expensive) for all resort categories. Beginning Jan 1st is Value Season rates for all resorts. It would be more expensive to carry over a reservation from Dec 31 to say Jan 8, then to book 2 separate reservations (one checking out/in Jan 1st). 2008 Value Season rates will be much cheaper than 2007 Holiday Season rates.

Seems to me Disney just extended it to keep you on the higher pricing level for the entire time vs giving guests Value Season rates.

Some folks prefer the simplicity of one reservation for their packages... when tickets get involved etc..

Some people will find this info useful and some won't. Depends greatly on what level of resort you're stayin at etc.

Very true. Just trying to help save some money for others! Although if the 2008 pricing structure does change (ie different price per day), the 2007 hold-over might be a better deal for some.

I guess, but it would have to be really simple for the price.

Keep in mind those on packages with a family of four would have to purchase base tickets again for their second resrvation if they want the dining plan etc. Add to that the *chance* they might have to check-in and out.. lots of people don't want to do that.

There's lots of different factors than can make this worth knowing.

And the biggest question of all, the rates for 2008. While every expectation is that January of 2008 will be rated similar to this year, the changes in the rate structures may not be insignificant.

The reason I posted this is that a number of posters were told that their rates for dates past Jan 1 were subject to change and Disney would let them know the new rate. That uncertainty bugged people.

Not everyone travels with the budget as their primary concern. I sure do, but I recognize others value convenience and other factors above budget.
