And the smell......:lovestruc is so good!!! Do you think they have secret gingerbread smells they pipe in?

I didn't get to buy a shingle at the GF during this trip. So, me and DH are planning on taking a resort decoration hop during our trip the next two weeks and I am going to get one of those shingles!!!

So while I am on a roll with posts!!!! I am going to share how I modified our guest book Vinylmation.

I added my own hidden mickey. :goodvibes

Here are the pics ~

Reminds me a little bit of the cabbage patch kids, having the signature on their behinds. :rolleyes1

BTW, if any of you are wondering about the drawing of Mr. Toad by Disney Artist Alex Mayer. We won that at an auction when we went to ToonFest a few months ago in Marceline, MO. This is a very small town where Walt lived for a few years as a kid. The town has completely embraced Walt and it was a really fun experience to be there.

Hopefully I still have readers. :flower3: I didn't scare you all away did I?

I just realized that I never posted my Glad I did's like others have done.

Glad we did ~

1. Had a DFTW....I cannot think of even one reason why I would have wanted our wedding anywhere else.

2. Added extras onto our Escape Wedding like our lunch at the Napa Room and our Fireworks Dessert party.

3. Had a Wishes Dessert Party, I didn't have to pay the extra fee for the Illuminations viewing and all of our guests said it was the perfect ending to a day filled with wedding magic.

4. Add videography, we hired Stan at the last minute and we are so happy he captured our day so that we can now see what we missed, lol, and also relive the happiness of the day.

5. Hired somebody to do professional hair and make-up. I could not have done it myself and Beaute Special did an amazing job.

6. Bought Bride and Groom ears in advance (they have since stopped selling the top hat) and wore them for our lunch entrance and fireworks photos.

7. Arrived 5 days earlier than the wedding so that we could relax a little and unwind before the big day. It really helped me feel relaxed and fresh on our wedding day.

8. Stayed in a DVC Villa, there was so much space and we felt at home with all of the amenities (like having a kitchen). Add we are glad we stayed on Disney property!

9. Hired Randy for photos....he was the best and really helped us throughout the entire day.

10. We drove down in our own car because we didn't have to worry about shipping anything or loosing my dress :scared1:, lol. Plus, we had a car, without paying the expense to rent one.

11. Sending away for our Marriage License in advance. We had no worries about getting it done when we arrived.

12. Hiring Ron Rozenzweig as our officiant because he worked with us to create a personalized ceremony that we both loved. He also worked with us to include the kids into the ceremony. They were both touched that we included them.

13. Added decorations to the wedding pavilion using Rosie with Disney Floral. We had minimal decorations but they managed to achieve a big impact. We used the paper runner (no problem with our heels), minimal flower petals, tulle going down both sides of the aisles and 6 glass containers on the altar with rose petals and floating candles.

14. Having Disney provide the sand ceremony pieces. They came with a lid and not even one grain of sand has moved. The price is very reasonable also, much less than we would have spent getting one on our own.

15. Paying extra for the music to be piped in during the Wishes fireworks. It added that extra "Magic" that you only get while hearing the sound. :wizard: It was pricey but so worth it!!!!! We were there the night of one of the Christmas parties so we got the holiday Wishes version and it was fantastic.

16. Had Mickey Bars at the Dessert Party....they were the biggest hit with everybody. We did them BOC thinking we would save money, but they ate so many that I don't know if this saved us money or what. :confused3

17. Decided on the Wedding Pavilion for our ceremony. We wavered in the beginning but once we saw the WP our minds were made up! It was also a cold day so staying nice and cozy and knowing our guests were comfortable helped me relax. We were also really impressed with the staff and loved having an organist and a violinist perform during the ceremony.

18. Having an alone dinner, just DH and I :cloud9:, the night before and having it at Flying Fish. It was a nice ending to our single life and they have such great service and wonderful food. It was one of the best meals we have had on property.

I just have 1 or 2 Wish we did's ~

1. Hired Randy for a little bit longer. We had him leave after getting a few shots at the Napa Room and then come back that evening for the fireworks. We really had barely any time in between the cake ceremony and the lunch to get all the shots and locations we wanted. But let me tell you, Randy got tons of shots in that little amount of time. He is a master!

2. Not worn such high heels for the ceremony. I don't usually wear heels but had been practicing. Well lets just say that there is a funny/embarrassing story that I will tell later about those darn heels!!!! :rotfl:

I can't think of any Glad we didn'ts ;)

Sorry this is so long but there were just so many great things that I didn't want to leave anything out. :wizard:

I'm still reading! :goodvibes

First of all, I love the little hidden Mickey on your Vinylmation. We bought the hot pink one for our guest book and I've already colored his nose and the buttons on his pants to coordinate with our colors. Do you mind if I steal your idea and fix a rhinestone to his bottom? ;)

And I always love to read what brides are glad they did/didn't do/wish they did. It's really helpful to have that 20/20 hindsight advice. :thumbsup2

Awwww, thank you. I love the hidden mickey I put on his behind, lol, to. Of course you can use the idea!

I found the reviews and glad I did's so helpful when I was planning also. That's why I wanted to make sure I added them.

I'll be adding the day before the wedding soon and then save the wedding day until after I get the professional pics back. Its so hard to wait for those but I'm forcing myself to be patient!

We just loved OKW. The rooms are so spacious!! We got one of the renovated rooms and it was just gorgeous, and sooooo clean!!! I was very impressed. I don't know how they get them looking so spotless after a family checks out.

We are staying at the AKL Kidani Villa's for the first time in January and I'm so excited!!! BLT is our home resort and we have yet been able to book it. Can't wait to finally experience a stay there. I was lucky enough to take a tour during what Disney called an "Open Mouse" for Cast Members. The 3 bedrooms are spectacular.

Just posting a little :yay::yay::yay::yay: for myself......

I mentioned in a previous post that DH and I are lucky enough to go on a preview/charity cruise on the new Dream Jan. 21-23. Well I asked DH to look into us staying DVC before and after the cruise.

We heard back yesterday that we got into Animal Kingdom Kidani Villa's before the cruise and Saratoga Springs after the cruise. :woohoo:

Being new DVC members this is so exciting. We have a 1 bedroom villa for Kidani and a Studio for Saratoga. The 1 bedroom was kind of a splurge for just the 2 of us but we thought, why not?? It's our honeymoon!!!!

Ok, so now done with my :yay::yay::yay::yay:

You will really love Kidani - it is one of my home resorts and very special to me now!!!

I'm so glad to hear that! I can't wait to see the rooms. I've been over to Kidani to eat at Sanaa but really didn't get a chance to explore the resort. So excited to do that.

Day 5 of our trip happened on Thursday, December 2nd. It's finally the day before the wedding!!!!!

My nerves were everywhere, from excited, to nervous, to worried to elated....I was a mess.

Backtracking a little, I never mentioned that I had gotten sick starting the day before Thanksgiving. I came home from the salon and it just hit me. I had this feeling of dread because NO bride wants to be sick on their wedding day . I thought that I would see how it goes, lol, and went on with cooking Thanksgiving dinner the next day, still not feeling well, and by Friday I had a fever, swollen neck glands, nasal congestion, and a very sore throat :scared1:. We went to the Dr. and they loaded me up with antibiotics (after me telling them that I just couldn't be sick on my wedding day) and I slowly got better as the first few days of our trip went on.

Back on topic, when I woke up on Thursday morning I just felt awful. I never get backaches and I had one all night and still had one that morning, plus I felt nauseous.

This was supposed to be the day that we took our mom's to the MK. My mom had already backed out since she was checking into her resort later that day (she lives local). DH decided to still go with his mom to the MK. She hadn't been in at least 20 years so she was excited to go.

I kissed him goodbye and planted myself on the living room couch with a pillow and blanket. I started to watch TV but Disney has the worst channels!!! I fell asleep for who knows how long, I also ate my cake from the night before (Rose & Crown)....it was very good!!!

DH called in the afternoon telling me I was lucky to have not gone because MK was a nightmare. For one, they started filming the Christmas parade a day early and today was the first day of filming so Main Street was a zoo. Then they ate lunch and his mom got really sick. He said they ended up taking almost 2 hours to get from Fantasyland back to the front of the park to exit :scared1:

I continued to rest and then received a phone call from my Dad. He had driven in the night before, he lives in Pensacola FL, and wanted to come and see me before the wedding the next day. I rarely get to see my dad, I mean maybe once every few years, sometimes longer. I tried to give him directions to our resort, but he hadn't been on Disney property since the early 80's! I had him ask his resort, lol. He finally got to the gate of OKW, called me again and I talked him back through the maze to our building. We talked for awhile and he gave me our wedding gift....money (my favorite kind of gift)

DH finally got back from his MK ordeal. He was exhausted and said if he had been able to fortell what the day would have been like he would have stayed home with me! This was the first time he was able to meet my Dad. They got to know each other for a little while and my dad said we were the perfect couple. That's nice to hear sometimes.

It was eventually time for my dad to leave because Brian and I had booked a special dinner for 2 at Flying Fish as our last night before the wedding meal.

We got ready and headed over to the boardwalk. We went straight to Flying Fish and they seated us at a table for 2 right away. We had the best server (Tracy :cloud9:) She was so nice and friendly and congratulated us on our wedding the next day. She was so excited to know our wedding would be on property. She came back and brought us free Champagne to start our meal. It was our first acknowledgment of our wedding from any restaurant we had been to on this trip and was very appreciated!!! I finally ordered a cheese plate!!!!! I have always wanted to do this but never wanted to spend the extra money. Since this was our "special" before the wedding dinner we decided to splurge and get what we wanted. It was so good!!! I then ordered some kind of fish, lol, since we were at a seafood restaurant!! :rotfl: In the middle of our meal the manager, Kevin, came over to congratulate us and thank us for picking their restaurant for such a special occasion. He was so great and friendly and made us feel special. Later when it was time for dessert we were both so full we said that we probably would not order any. Our server, Tracy, said that we should look at the menu anyway. While we were doing that, Kevin came back and gave us complimentary dessert wine, omg....so good, I think it was Ice Wine!!! Yummy.....then Tracy came back with this

Awwww......we were so overwhelmed with their hospitality that night!!!! You can also see our Ice Wine in the shot. I highly recommend them and really want to go back for their special Chef's Counter meal.

We then went back out onto the Boardwalk and this is when we went inside and looked at the Gingerbread Gazebo, Ooops! I originally posted that we did this the night before. Here is the one good shot I took using my phone

We spent forever looking for those elusive hidden mickey's. We were not alone either. There were a few other couples doing the same thing, lol. We only found 13 of 14!

We then dragged ourselves back to OKW and fell into bed. We were so tired!!! Plus, tomorrow was going to be the BIG day!!!! The wedding day....:wizard::yay:

My trip report for the wedding I want to save for when I get the Professional pics back :rolleyes1 but I will keep updating with things that I didn't include like our invitations, programs, newsletter, pics of inside the cake that we are still eating from, lol, and some of our personal touches like the personalized M&M's.

I'm off tomorrow for another drive down to Florida. This time to work, not for fun....but I will try and throw a little fun in there somehow. The fun being going to the parks!!!! :yay: Also on the 4th I will be waving the Dream into port.....seriously cannot wait for this!

Ive never been the the flying fish before but after how they treated you Im tempted to go before our wedding seeing too as we'll be staying at BCV. I cant wait to hear about your wedding day and see the pics too...I hope the pictures come back soon!! Have fun in Florida too! Im very jealous!! :)

still reading! just been off the boards for a few days. i hurt my back saturday nite while digging out xmas gifts for the kids christmas party on sunday. havent' been able to move well since. ugh. rite before christmas, gotta love it! thankfully it wasn't while doing laundry and falling down the stairs! ;)

i know eh, its such a small world! i love the shirt idea!!!! must be a mom and wife thing, lol cus i can see why they didn't like it.

I told Brian about the B-Day coincidence and he thought that was very cool. My son and daughter are twins and their very first names were baby A and baby B so I thought it would be appropriate to give them names that began with their letter. I think my daughter is such an Amber, I can't even think of her having another name. It does get confusing with two Brian/Bryan's in the house but we sometimes figure it out. I told them that I wanted to get them custom shirts with Brian 1 and Bryan 2, kind of like Thing 1 and Thing 2 from Universal. For some reason they didn't like that idea :confused3.....LOL :rotfl:

Just a really quick update. I don't have Randy's pictures yet but on Christmas Eve I did get a most unexpected email from Disney Photography telling me that our wedding pictures were up. These were the pictures that are included in the Escape Package.

Here is the link they provided:

I'm pretty happy with them. There are a few shots that he got that Randy couldn't like me, my dad and my daughter waiting behind the doors before we walked down the aisle. There are some cool angles like us looking out at the Polynesian from behind the WP. It looks like we are in Hawaii with the blue water in front of us. This is also the first time that I was able to see us kiss after being pronounced husband and wife. There is also a shot of me and my dad, who have been divorced for about 22 yrs....they were sitting together peacefully :scared1:...I think I might frame that one, LOLOL.

I am currently in Florida working at Disney for a few weeks and staying out of all that snow up north. I should be heading back around the 6th. Maybe by then I will have more pics to do the wedding day trip report!!!

Also on the 4th I get to welcome the Dream into Port....so excited about that!!!!l I can't wait to take our Honeymoon on the 21st!!!

Oh, before I forget, I know there has been some discussion about the wedding buttons being discontinued. I found out that this is true. I found some today while at work. If anybody wants any, I have about 6-8, just pm me your address and I will send them to you....for free!!!! Can you believe there was a site selling them when it's something that was just given out! First come first serve...just let me know!

I love your pictures! You looked so lovley!! :goodvibes Im looking forward to seeing Randys pictures too!!

Thank you for the responses about the Just Married buttons. Everyone who pm'ed me will be getting two buttons. I had just enough!

I'm now all out of the buttons though. I have a few more days at work so I will keep checking for more hidden buttons. I'll post if I find any. It felt really good to be able to help some of you out!

I love your disney pictures!! I think they came out pretty good!! :goodvibes
