We are planning a trip to Disney for my granddaughters 5th birthday June 2017. Due to my daughter having a dance recital the first weekend of June we were planning on going June 4th. However, my sons ex-wife is giving him issues about taking their daughter over her actual birthday(even though it is my sons yr to spend her birthday w her) This is an issue that is going to require the lawyer to settle so I am considering just changing the date to June 11 or 12th to avoid issues.
So is a week or so later going to make that much of a difference in temperatures and crowds?? I am NOT a fan of June at Disney and much prefer October but due to school schedules, having a college student and my sons visitation, its the easiest time for us to go.
I do a touring plan and we have toured over spring break and survived lol
Thoughts???
Thank you!!!

We've done June twice, I think one was 8th-14th and the other 3rd-10th. This year we are going the 11th-17th because of my daughter's choir trip. DH didn't want to go that late into June but I asked here and the consensus was any difference in temp or crowds wasn't worth her missing the choir trip.

So I would say any difference in temp or crowds for you isn't worth attorney fees or drama :)

Thank you! And yes, anytime we can avoid drama with her is a good time!! Our only issue will be if she then says she has plans that week. lol Then we will need the lawyer because he gets priority in odd years for vacation.
I am just thinking if we bargain with her and say she can have her on her actual birthday (which is a great concern with her and my son is flexible with what day he celebrates her birthday) we can work out an extra day or so and stay for 8 days :)

We have been around both of those timeframes. Temperature wise, there was really no difference. Crowd wise, that second week was more crowded, but not so much that I wouldn't do it again if I needed to. Our preferred week is the first week though.

I would love to go June 1st! Darn dance recital is always the first weekend.
Have you been during spring break?? Just curious how it compares to then. We went the week leading up to Easter in 2012 and it was busy but not near as bad as I had anticipated.

I have never been during Spring break, but I think it is more crowded then than the first few weeks in June. I think you will be fine!

The difference will be negligible. I'd change the dates rather than have to deal with lawyer drama.

We've gone several times in June, both late and early. There's really no difference in weather and very little difference in crowds. A lot of schools in FL and the south in general get out of school in May. If your son is flexible, I'd just go when you can avoid the drama. Have a great trip!

Thank you all for your responses!! I feel a lot better about going later in June!

As a Florida annual pass holder I say best of luck.

What do you mean by this? Because it will be so busy? Busier than spring break?
Busier than sprin break for sure. the last five years me and my friends who have annual passes have been tracking the crowds and it's really crowded then and hot.

That's interesting. I use easywdw and touring plans to plan my trips and they show crowd levels in June to be 7 and 8 while spring break is 9 and 10.

Take their word or someone who goes often. I'm not saying I go there them but my friends do in Facebook and cry and show me times and line photos. This has been the last 5 years. During the week is always less busier than weekend but it's soooooooooooooooooo gross in summer, I can't.

I think the earlier the better, every day it gets busier and hotter. But....I don't think it will make a huge difference, it will be a little busier but not a major amount.

Thanks! This would have been a great year to go because we used no snow days and are getting out of school in mid May. We could have gone prior to my daughters dance recital. But it's just not in the cards. Although I'd love to run off to Disney ❤️
We will manage regardless I suppose. And we will be at Disney

A visit to Disney will be what you make of it. Regardless if it's crowds, heat, rain, etc just make the most of your time being together. Good planning will trump anything else, every time. Have fun, stay optimistic, and just go with the flow.
