Debating between Disney World or Disneyland for summer trip

We plan to go to either Disney World or Disneyland this summer. We were last at Disney World during the summer of 2017 and the last time we were at Disneyland was the summer of 2014. We want to avoid the Star Wars crowds, and that's scary at Disneyland since they haven't announced the opening date yet. Also, at the beginning of June we would have to deal with grad nite closures at one park at Disneyland two nights of our trip. We can go on our vacation as early as the very beginning of June. Would you throw caution to the wind and go to Disneyland, since we haven't been in a long while, or go the safe route and do Disney World?

I'd go with whichever one you want to experience more.
Personally I'm not a huge fan of DLR so I would always pick WDW if there was a choice.

We love both. My husband would love to add on a national park to a Disneyland trip like we did last time (after DL we headed to Yosemite). I'm just worried that DL will be very crowded.

LOL I would never go to WDW in the summer. Well I might (and have) gone in June. But never, never, never in July or August. For me DLR beats WDW for summer weather by a ton.

But this summer DLR will have SWGE. And WDW will not. For me that would not change a thing but for you it sounds like it might.

Do not get too hung up about SWGE dates for DLR in June. Lots of folks are saying June 21 but as far as I can tell, that is pure speculation. If SWGE is ready for Memorial Day I am sure it will open then.
