Can anyone give me advise at to which one is better? My sister has the Cybershot and I LOVE her pictures. I have only used Canon cameras in the past and kind of want to stay with a Canon. They both have 12X optical zoom, which I really want. The Cybershot is about $150 cheaper, so really need someone to talk me into why I should buy the Canon over the Sony.

Thanks!!

S2 IS feels better in my hand and it has swivel LCD which I find very helpful for taking pics with myself in it (I don't know whether the Cybershot has swivel screen or not).

If money is an issue, then you've already got the answer. But as a Canon lover myself (so far I've used several Canon Sureshot 35mm point and shoots, Original 35mm Rebel, dRebel, 10D, 20D, 30D, 5D, RebelXT, A80, A95, S1 IS) although I've also used (or tested) several Kodaks, Olympii, Minoltas, Nikons, Sonys, HPs, Fujis, and Ricoh, I always ended up with another Canon and be happier with that brand.

My husband bought me the new 8 megapixel Cybershot - I used it one night and then returned it. I had all these circles show up in pictures. My mom aslo has a Cybershot (5 megapixels) and hers does the same thing with the circles. I don't know if it was user error or not, but to me that should just not be happening. I exchanged the Sony for a Canon S2 IS. I love the Canon, don't think I'll ever go back to another brand of cameras...

I love my Canon S2-IS... I'm still in the Point and Shoot stage, but I am just having too much fun taking photos......

I debated these two. I was so use to a swivel body on my older Nikon 995 (great shot creativity from various angles) that the swivel LCD probably was the clincher for me to go with the S2. I have enjoyed using it the past few months.
