hi disboards family. Pls settle a debate in our household...

Where do they shoot their fireworks off of? Is it off the boat? Or off a barge somewhere in the ocean away from the boat?

I know...first world problems...but thanx for any help in settling this debate for us... :flower:

It is definitely off the ship. I've read it's from the roof of Palo but I'm not 100% certain on that.

Off the ship.
At least on the Dream it is by the closed off kids pool area, I have seen CMs setting it up.

Thank you for all your quick responses!! Really appreciate everyone taking the time! :flower:

They are fired by compressed air from a deck aft, (generally forward of the Palo area.) I know they are fired from the Starboard side, but they could also be firing them on the portside.

Disney developed the system and arranged approval from the various international ship regulatory agencies, including the USCG. Funny as it may sound on of the hardest things to get approved was how they were to be handled as they were loaded onboard the vessel. Storage was relatively easy as the vessel already had pyrotechnics onboard the vessel for emergency situations.

The only other line I know of that has fireworks now is NCL on 1 or 2 vessel, they copied Disney's system, which is apparently quite legal.

I agree with MJ, kinda curious who won the debate?
